Episode 2842

Extended Summary

Gypsy is having problems at school. Joel tells her that Judith and Fisher have decided to give her leeway considering what she went through. She is annoyed with him for talking behind her back and she does not want pity. Judith has asked Edward would he help Gypsy with her schoolwork. She is working on her essay on the computer. Edward offers to help her but she does not want any. Just as Edward leaves, the computer dies on her. Peta attempts to save her work.

Sally tells Kieran that she would like to leave for the church on her wedding day from the Nashes house as she lived there. Kieran says he will ask Joel. Sally later finds Joel in the Diner, but Kieran has not asked him. Joel tells her that he thought they would have heard from Colleen – he has a buyer and the sale has been made. The buyer is a family from the city, the Sutherlands.

Colleen calls over at the Nashes, but Joel is not there. She has a complaint about brown water running from her taps. While Colleen continues complaining, Gypsy calls Colleen names under her breath. Colleen does not hear them. Just as she leaves, Kieran calls to see Joel. Gypsy is annoyed with him and shouts at him saying that Joel is not here. Kieran said that he’ll just wait for him then. Colleen looks through the window, shaking her head. Joel has just come back and tells him he has a visitor and advises him that she would not leave them together long. He is annoyed and tells her he is sick of everyone slandering his daughter and tells her to mind her business.

Kieran asks Joel about the sale of the house. He thought they had an agreement and he persuades her to withdraw the sale and offer it to him. Joel refuses, telling him he does not operate this way. Kieran leaves, asking him to sleep on it.

Peta and Edward are on the couch when Joel is looking through the paper. Edward congratulates Joel on the sale and tells him that he and Peta are looking for a place. Joel is shocked and tells them they are being silly. Judith tells him that he would have agreed with him, but she has been worn down; there is no other way.

The next morning, in the Diner, Kieran tells Sally that Joel has not changed his mind. She tells him that there is nothing they can do but Kieran is not convinced.

Also, Judith and Fisher are talking and she is less confused than she was. Joel comes in and Judith talks to him about Edward and Peta. He still has not changed his mind. Minutes later, Judith announces the good news to Edward and Peta – she can now move in with him.

At the beach, Gypsy is reading her essay. She starts thinking and loosens her hands; the essay pages blow away. She continues thinking…
