Extended Summary
Joel accused Natalie of trying to ease her conscience by asking him to live with her. She told him to think about it but he told Judith that he would be moving back in with her once he leaves hospital (despite the stairs). Gypsy thought that he was going to move back in with her and Harry but he told her that he was moving back in with Judith – end of story.
Gypsy then went to see Judith and said, “If you care about him, you would let him go”.
It was Sally’s first teaching prac day at Summer Bay High and as usual, the students played up for her. Duncan tried to calm them down (Nick being the ring leader saying that “not to hassle Sally would be to break the law of giving student teachers a hard time!”) but failed. Fisher told Sally what the only way to calm them down is to earn their respect – she is trying.
Vinnie walked into the Diner when a donation tin was being passed around for victims of the mudslide. Colleen accused him of not caring, bla bla bla (as Colleen does) so Vinnie put in $400 from his wallet. He later realised that he had needed $50 of that for his rent. He went to get it back off Ailsa but then Colleen had a go at him again. Vinnie told them to forget it and is now down in the dumps.
Shauna found out that the picture from the newspaper of Gavin was hanging up at the school. She confronted Fisher at the Diner about it saying that it was immoral etc but Fisher said that it was a “sensational piece of photo journalism” and that despite the fact that he (Fisher) and Vinnie hardly ever see eye to eye, he believes that Vinnie worked as hard as anyone that night and he is proud to display his photograph of Gavin in the school as recognition of Vinnie’s hard work and Gavin’s bravery. (She didn’t have a response to that!)
