Sally’s first day as a teacher, at Summer Bay High, was a success, however not the same can be said for Brett Egan – who was a student teacher at the school a few years back – he got his classrooms mixed up and had to swap with Sally. He and Sally had lunch together and he said had a few bad experiences and is back to prove to himself he can succeed in places where he failed.
Irene is worried Alf looking at her as Ailsa’s replacement, as he is suffocating her with extra attention.

Colleen’s not being very sensitive about Alf’s behavior. He left the Diner to go fishing, and Colleen complained June saying he should be helping them instead. Of course, June came to Alf’s rescue and said he’s dealing with his grief in the only way he knows.

Harry was having a chat to Alf and he was having a hard time trying to hook the bait to his line, Alf started talking about Ailsa and how she didn’t understand the importance of fishing or something. He then became frustrated and threw his rod and fishing box into the water. When Harry tried to comfort him, Alf brushed him off, saying he was all right and stormed off. Later on, Fisher found him on the beach, staring at the ocean. Alf’s slipping deeper into his misery.

Brodie was moping around the school today. Mitch has been avoiding her all day, and she thinks it has something to do with her. Hayley was joking with him at lunchtime with him and he ran out in tears. He’s been trying to run the Diner and go to school. June had a word to Alf about this, and also told him her was trying to grieve for Ailsa as well. Alf told her that she should be thinking for Duncan not Mitch, because Mitch isn’t family. Mitch is really quite upset.
