Vinnie attempts to stay strong for Leah and V.J. when he is released on bail. Gypsy is having second thoughts about the engagement. Alex struggles to keep up a happy front for Leah’s sake.
Extended Summary
Leah is worried about what the police are doing with Vinnie. Helen plays around with VJ. Vinnie walks back in and tries to avoid the issue with Leah. He has to go down the police station. Alex and Vinnie leave the hospital. They meet Gypsy and Will in the corridor and talk about the births.
Brodie has received a letter about a Coroner’s inquest into Miles death telling her that she needs to attend.
Gypsy and Will decide to name their baby girl Lily. Apparently Gypsy always wanted to be called that. When Charlotte asks for the babies surname, Will jokes that they should combine their surnames and call her Smash.
Alex walks into the diner and announces that he has become an uncle. Colleen wants to know everything about VJ, but Alex doesn’t know. Colleen says that she will have to go down to the hospital, but Alf says that she has to finish her shift. Alex asks Alf if he can take a day off for the Coroner’s Inquest and tells him that Leah and Vinnie are not to find out. Noah and Hayley walk into the diner talking about Will and Gypsy’s baby, and announces their engagement. Colleen thinks that they are stealing Leah’s thunder. Colleen then remarks to Alf that babies being born in ditches is the sort of thing you expect with people like Gypsy around.
Shelley has phoned up the Coroner’s office and Brodie is obliged to give evidence. Dani goes on about how unfair it is for Brodie to have to go through all the feelings again.
Gypsy and Lily talk about their respective births. Colleen comes into the hospital and gets the babies mixed up. Gypsy then talks about some of the baby care classes they’ve got running at the hospital. Colleen then goes through the worst case scenario.
Alf congratulates on VJ’s birth. Vinnie announces that he has been charged and that they are going to take him to court. Theo and Chris have returned to the city to arrange a lawyer.
Vinnie returns to the hospital. When asked what’s going on he tries to keep the truth from Leah.
Brodie has received the plaque for the Miles Memorial Bench. Alex comes up to tell them the news about the babies. Brodie walks away. When Alex mention Gypsy he realises that Dani isn’t cool about it, though she denies it.
