Extended Summary
Kane shouts frantically at the chopper overhead but isn’t seen. He finds a half conscious Kirsty and carries her to water. She panics when she awakes and is reluctant on having him anywhere near her. He persuades her it is best if they stick together. They sleep on opposite sides of the creek and Kane tells Kirsty some things about his rough childhood. She is silently sympathetic. In the morning, she gets defensive when he brushes a spider from her hair. She doesn’t trust him. They follow the creek down in an attempt to find the beach. Not far away, Shelley lies unconscious with a snake crawling across her.
Alex is finding it hard to put up with Martin and Lance – “Dumb and Dumber”. The boys have a barbeque at the Patterson/Poulos house. They discuss what they would take into the bush if they could only have one thing. Martin and Lance invite Alex to join the search team the following day. He accepts.
The girls have a similar night in at Sally’s place. They discuss the future – what they might be doing in ten years. They jokingly predict Sally will still be in Summer Bay. Blake comes around the following morning to give Sophie a present – decent footwear. Sophie tells Carly that seeing Blake’s carefree attitude to life has made her look at things differently.
