Extended Summary

RECAP
Scott says that they MUST find the truckie to prove Dani’s story
Alex and Hayley recieve a bill for the gym equipment from ‘Joshua West Holdings’
Jade tells Kirsty that she put her diary in Jade’s bag, and Kirsty is shocked, telling Jade that it was dumb. Seb finds the diary in class as Jade looks on dismally.

SCHOOL
Max is trying to write a whyme for Eloise. Tasha approches and comments on how Max and Tasha like one another, and no one seems to like her – “I’m just a freak that no one wants around”. A teacher walks by and warns Tasha not to be late for her class – again. Tasha doesn’t want to go to her lesson, and Max reassures her that it’ll be fine.

Seb hands Jade’s diary to Kirsty, querying how it got into his bag. Kirsty tries to make Seb give it back himself, but he tells her that she’ll see Jade before he does. Seb doesn’t tell her whether or not he read it.

CARAVAN PARK
Jade wonders why Seb didn;t want to give the diary back, and is embarrassed at the Seb situation. Kirsty encourages Jade to simply tell Seb how she feels.

DINER
Seb asks for Alf’s advice about Jade, not wanting to get “kicked in the head” again. Alf relates it to he and Maureen, and Colleen relates it to she and Norman – he didn’t mind that she’d had “bits removed” – sometimes you have to take the risks. Seb tells Alf what she had written in her diary – it seems like she really cares, but he doesn’ know if she means it.

RANDOM PLACE
Kirsty talks to kane about tryiong to get jade and Seb together, then announcing that if Seb doesn’t get his act together then she will accompany Jade to the dance. Kane wonders where he fits in, but she had assumed that he wouldn’t want to go. She admits that not everyone knows that they are still together, and she is fed up of getting hassled over Dani. She walks off, not responding when he tells her that they have to talk.

SCHOOL
Seb asks Jade how her diary wound up in his bag, and she passes it off as a mistake. He warns her to be more careful with the things that she cares about.
Kirsty arrives, apologising for being late as she was “held up with Kane”. Kane turns up in the school, insisting that they talk, and wanting to know if she’s ashamed of him. She takes him aside, where she admits that if she went to the dance with him all she would think about would be Dani – and how this year she’s locked up. She tells him it’s NOT to do with him – it’s just her family. He takes it to mean that now she’s back with them he doesn’t matter, and leaves.

Tasha arrives late to class, and is reprimanded by the teacher. Tasha drops a pen, and tries to get Max to pick it up. Her talking earns her a detention, with the teacher refusing to allow her to explain. Eloise also arrives late, and the teacher tells her that it’s good to have her back. Tasha is not impressed.

DINER
Alf talks to Colleen and Alex about Seb’s drama with Jade – it was simpler in his day, and Colleen concurs – Norman knows all about committment. They warn Alex about the consequences of moving in with Hayley.
Hayley rushes in to inform them that Josh has sent men to take the gym equipment. Alex, Alf and Hayley fail to stop them – they’re only following orders. It looks like Josh has won.
Alf returns to the diner, where he and Colleen discuss Josh, and how the gym is stuffed – all Josh was after was the money.

THE PALACE
Alex, Hayley and Noah can’t get into contact with Jesse, knowing that he’ll flip – as he has put so much time and effort into the gym.
Hayley answers the phone and after a short conversation she announces that they’ve found the truckie!

DINER
Colleen, Alf and Alex discuss the good news, and how things are easier with Morag on-side.
Kane enters, and Alf enquires where he’s sleeping, impressed at his persistence, and how he has done the right thing by splitting with Kirsty, as it wouldn’t have worked in the long run. Kane doesn’t get a chance to tell him that he and Kirsty are still together.

BREAK

SCHOOL CLASSROOM
Max passes Tasha a note in class, and Tasha is caught by the teacher. Tasha refuses to hand over the note, trying to tell her that the note isnt hers, and questions why she is being picked on, before telling the teacher that she hates her, and running out, throwing a bin over on the way out.

BEACH HOUSE
Tasha tells Kit that she is NEVER going back to school, wanting to find her own parents so she doesn’t have to go to Summer Bay High – but Kit tries to convince her that all schools will be the same. Kirsty arrives, asking if Tasha is alright after what happened, and Tasha is still upset about the teacher not listening to her about the note. She tells Kirsty it’s like she and Kane – Kirsty is mean to him because he stands up to people, and isn’t gutless. Kirsty is left thinking.

SEA
Tasha swims in the sea, fully clothed, and Kane approaches. It appears that they have both had a tough day, and Tasha once again states her hatred of school, and her desire to be free – like him, but he reminds her that he hasn;t actually got a warm bed to go home to. She suggests that he stays at the beach house, and insists that it’s her house too, and if she wants him to stay then he can.

CARAVAN PARK
Kirsty and Jade discuss the Tasha/teacher situation when Max and Eloise arrive home from school. Eloise says she hasn’t been round much because she has been sick, and Max gets upset and leaves. Jade tells her that she’s treally brave. Eloise then goes to speak to Max, who isn’t ‘ok’ about her dying, but she reminds him that there is nothing they can do, and every minute together counts. She assures him that he IS strong – some people can’t even handle being around her, and he’s always there.

BEACH HOUSE
Reg the truckie arrives, but Noah has been unable to contact Scott. Reg remembers seeing Dani, and says that he DID contact the police when he heard about the accident, but it apprently wasn’t followed through. He saw Dani wandering around on an empty road, and tells Hayley that he would make a statement to that effect – as it’s only the truth.
As he leaves, Hayley can’t believe the size of the police blunder, but Noah is confident that everything will work out.

CARAVAN PARK
Max recieves a letter from starlight, who are going to help them – but as he rushes off to arrange things, she looks worried.

BEACH HOUSE
Tasha arrives back with Kane in tow, stunning Kit, who is adamant that Irene would not be happy. Tasha insists that Kane can’t stay outside when there’s a storm approaching, but as Tasha announces that he can stay in her room and goes to get sheets, Kane decides to leave. Kit tells him about a window at school that is left unlocked – she used to go there when she was drinking.

DINER
Noah has finally succeeded in contacting Scott. Alf enters, having just come from a meeting with the Surf Club committee – Josh is entitled to half of the equipment, and they reckon they can ‘get’ Josh for something. Alf is going to get onto his lawyer, but in the meantime they are likely to lose members.

CARAVAN PARK
Kirsty is distant, thnking about Kane, and Jade doesn’t want to know, calling Kane insane. Max tells them of his plans for a perfect evening for Eloise, but Jade tries to tell him that Eloise may not be as enthusiastic as he thinks. He brushes her off, telling her that unlike she and Seb, he and Eloise say what they really think.

SCHOOL
As the rain pours down, Kane climbs into the school, bedding down in the classroom.

DINER – morning
Alf has spoken to his lawyer, and tells Alex that Josh ought to be getting a visit from the cops.

Jade arrives to see Seb, and admits that she wanted him to read the diary – as she meant everything in it. She apologises for Toby, and the way she has treated him, before suggesting that they start again, and go to the formal together – he says that he will think about it.

SCHOOL
Kane wakes up late as the school bell sounds. Grabbing his things, he rushes into the corridor, where the place has been trashed – lockers upside down etc. The pupils enter – with Kirsty, Max and Tasha being amongst the first in. They stare at him, stunned, with Tasha looking guilty.
