Extended Summary
KIM/ROBBIE/TASHA
At the diner, Tasha is enthusiastically planning what she will do when Kim moves in. Robbie is getting really fed up and has to ask her to talk about something else. Then, who should walk in, but Kim! He barges in on their conversation, annoying Robbie. Robbie tries to convince Tasha and Kim that there’s no hurry for Kim to leave the Caravan Park.
Tasha shows Kim where his room will be, and they bump into Kane who gives Kim the third degree with his ‘big brother’ act.
Later, Tasha and Robbie are collecting signatures for a petition. Sally asks what they’re up to and is immediately suspicious when they fob her off with an excuse. She guesses that it’s something to do with Hyde and warns them that he would make a pretty powerful enemy. However she also says they can come to her if they need to.
Meanwhile, Kim meets Noah on the beach and discuss Hyde. He says he think Kim makes too many decision (like giving up swimming and quitting school) just to spite his father. He saya he should do what he actually wants, not what will annoy Hyde the most. Kim then chats to Alf about the lifeguard job, he hasn’t decided whether he wants it yet.
Later, Kim barges in on Robbie and Tash again. He needs to borrow Irene’s car to drive to a job interview but couldn’t find her. Tasha knows where the keys are and offers to give them to him. Robbie advises against it but they don’t care. To shut him up, Kim asks Robbie to come along to make sure nothing happens to the car.
At that very moment, at the other side of the diner, Floss tells Norman and Colleen not to drive to a romantic picnic spot they’re planning on visiting because she has had a premonition of a terrible crash. However, the car in the premonition was yellow, and Norman’s isn’t, so they decide to go anyway.
Next thing we see, the trio of Kim, Tasha and Robbie are climbing out of a ditch which is billowing steam from Irene’s wrecked car. Robbie wants to tell someone, but Kim insists that they get away from there, make up a story and stick to it.
HAYLEY
She’s still upset about the black paintings, and insists they have to be thrown out. Dani, Scott and Noah insist they’re really great but she hates them. She goes to visit Flynn, but he’s not in so she chats to Sally instead. She says that she used to paint what was inside of her, and now she’s worried that she’s all black inside (!?)
Sally does a good impression of her hubby, SuperFlynn, and puts things right. Later, Noah sneaks downstairs at night to see her painting a beautiful beach scene. The next day she’s really happy with it and is much more upbeat, but still makes Dani throw away the black paintings.
ALF/SCOTT/KANE
Roy, the boat inspector, is advising Alf and Scott about the engine. He’s not happy. Alf wants him to go easy on them, but he won’t, and is especially hard on Scott, saying that losing his licence could be the least of his problems.
Later, they talk to Kane and say they’ll have to make some changes in the short ime before the hearing. He assumes he’s getting the chop, but they actually want to train him to take over from Scott as it looks like he won’t be able to be captain much longer.
FLOSS/SALLY
Sally has to tell Floss that Flynn will not help with ther euthanasia. However, she doesn’t realise that Sally doesn’t want to help either, and goes on about how it’s ‘just the two of them now’. A guilty-feeling Sally goes and unlocks Flynn’s medicine cupboard, but sees nothing useful, so turns her attention to his medical bag, not noticing that she’s left the cupboard open. The next morning she’s back in the surgery again (not sure why!) and is caught by Colleen, who notices the open cupboard. She says she’ll remind Flynn to keep it locked, but Sally convinces her to let her do it, saying she needs to tell him to take a break anyway. Later, Floss is popping pills in the diner when Sally tells her she can’t do it. Floss is upset and insists she’s not going to wait until she’s old and frail, she has to take action now. Alf and Sally talk about her cancer, but Alf is unaware of Sal’s dilemma.
Overall, quite a good episode. Certainly a break from the Shunterland drama of the past few days. Floss and Sally’s story was really great to watch, but the amount of Kim in this episode was horribly high. Go away evil boy! The Hayley story and boat story were not particularly memorable, but didn’t seem squashed into the episode or, conversely, dragged out for too long.
