She’s also continuing her flirting ways. Jesse says he’s not interested in a relationship; he’s just come out of a very difficult one. Martha says she doesn’t want one either; she just wants some fun. Jesse is thrown by her straight up approach, but is contemplating the offer.
Josie has it out with Jesse over his association with Martha. She thinks he’s a cradle-snatcher. Jesse’s furious; she’s becoming more like Angie all the time. The two of them let fly at each other and then stalk off. Martha apologises to Jesse for making him feel uncomfortable, but Jesse has decided that he’s glad to be rid of Josie. He asks Martha out on a dinner date. As the kids set up for the party at Sally’s house, Cassie and Ric continue their flirting. Matilda watches on, doing her best to hide her slight sadness. In a moment alone, she asks Ric about liking Cassie and he admits it. Matilda thinks it’s the right thing (despite the fact she still likes him) and encourages him to go for it. Later on, Henry questions Ric on how close he’s getting to Cassie. Ric opens up a little and the two boys bond slightly. Later that afternoon, Ric and Cassie are fooling around together when Ric falls on top of her on the couch and leans in for a kiss. She freaks out – tears in her eyes – and screams at him to get off her. She runs out of the room, leaving Ric wondering what the hell he’s done. What brought on such an extreme reaction?
