Extended Summary
Cassie stands on the pier after running out on Ric (after he tried to kiss her). Her mobile is going off but she refuses to answer it. What secret is she hiding? Matilda sees her and asks if she’s okay. Cassie assures her she is and invites her to go for a drink.
Sally is touched by all the effort that went into her welcome home. Alf credits Ric, but can see he’s troubled by something. He pulls him aside and Ric reveals what happened with Cassie. Alf advises him to talk to her and set things straight. Ric heads off to the Diner, but Cassie sees him and walks out, leaving him frustrated and Matilda concerned. Back at Summer Bay house, the party is over and Sally admits to Flynn she feels silly for questioning that Marc was the Stalker, but thanks Flynn for supporting her anyway.
Beth and Hyde have to do an school audit together before Irene returns that night. Hyde’s reunion with Irene is a joyous one. She asks him to stay the night. The next morning at school, Hyde invites Beth for lunch with he and Irene. Beth doesn’t want to crowd Irene, but Hyde assures her it’s fine. Beth accepts. Irene’s disappointed when she sees her because she had a present to give to Hyde.
Colleen’s in a flap over the organising of the Miss Groper pageant. Joy offers to help, but Colleen refuses. Leah overhears and asks Joy to take care of the banner. Colleen’s miffed. Leah calls her on it and Colleen reveals the feud goes back to Miss Groper 1959 when she won, but Joy tried to sabotage her. Joy makes a comment about her and Cassie beating Colleen and Tasha. Colleen goes off at her. The granny war has begun!
Robbie and Tasha are continuing their coldness at school and refuse to work together when Dan tries to teams them up but Robbie goes with a pretty girl called Samantha and flirts with her to try to make Tasha jealous. Tasha has a go at him for it, but he asks why she’d be worried if they’re not going out anymore? Tasha gets her own back when she is has a conversation with Luke, the handsome jock. Robbie is furious, but he’s made his bed. They know they want each other back but are refusing to acknowledge it.
At school, Matilda wants to know what was up with Cassie and Ric the night before? Cassie covers with a story and Matilda buys it. Ric is totally surprised to find Cassie back to her old self again. He’s still troubled by her attitude and asks Matilda to find out what the real story is. Matilda agrees, but Cassie spins her another story which she tells Ric. Ric isn’t convinced, and he’s right not to be, because over at the beach Cassie is crying her eyes out. What’s she hiding that’s causing so much hurt?
