Extended Summary
Robbie and Tasha are mortified at being found out by Beth and try to apologise to her. She says it’s fine, but next time they should trust her. A knock at the door and they’re all in for a shock. Beth’s Dad Graham has turned up – after eight years away! Beth wonders why he’s turned up and he says it’s to celebrate Robbie’s birthday, just like he did Scott’s. Things get heated between them and the kids make themselves scarce. As they’re all walking near the Surf Club they spot Jesse and Martha pashing. The secret’s out! Martha and Jesse swear them not to tell. Meanwhile, back at the house, Graham says if he’s not welcome, he’ll just head off, but Beth
says he can stay for as long as he wants.
At Robbie’s party, Beth gives a touching speech for Robbie and lets him know his family will always be there for him. She looks pointedly at Graham . Matilda offers Graham some cake and he spills it on himself. He starts to grizzle at Matilda but Beth takes him into the kitchen and angrily tells him if he wants to act like that then he can go. Graham’s embarrassment and shame is the first emotion he’s shown. Clare’s waiting for Peter to pick her up from the hospital but he’s still out cold, dumped in the boot of a car by the Stalker – blood dripping from his forehead. Clare races back to the station and finds out about the email from the Stalker, realises Peter went out on his own. She’s furious. She calls a squad of men together and they head out to the abattoir and find his car, but no Peter – although Clare finds Peter’s wallet with a photo of them both from their early days together. Does he still feel something for her?
Flynn finds Cassie outside Joy’s room after her altercation with Ben and urges her not to be afraid to talk to them. At Robbie’s party Flynn urges Cassie not to make things hard for her Uncle Ben, he loves her and is trying to do the right thing. Cassie bites her tongue – if only Flynn knew. Cassie apologises to Colleen for lashing out at her about Joy. Colleen’s touched, and immediately starts going on about how great it is to have Ben back. Cassie’s emotions get the better of her and she races out. Ric follows her.
Peter’s in the boot of a moving car. It stops and Peter knows he’s about to be finished off. Remembering Clare’s words that the stalker thrives on power, he challenges “Sarah” to finish him off – she never made him fear her. Suddenly the Stalker leaves. Peter bashes his way out and heads back to the station where he outlines his belief that Sarah is the Stalker. Clare rips into him for putting himself and the investigation at risk and says one more stunt like this and he’s off the case. Peter storms out. Relations between the two are at an all-time low, but is it just professional, or are personal feelings entering the equation? Cassie’s down at the beach. She tells Ric the secret she’s been keeping all this time: Ben abused her as a child. Ric’s devastated. He wants to go and tell Flynn and Sally, but Cassie is adamant they can’t. Ric promises not to as Cassie breaks down in his arms.
