Extended Summary
Dan, Flynn and Scott are going on a camping trip. Sally and Leah hint they might want to go too, but are told that they won’t be able to take the pace. Mock outrage from the girls – they can handle anything, and now, they’re definitely coming whether the guys like it or not!
Cassie comes down, and Ric is quick to move out of the room. Cassie doesn’t want it to be like this between them… But Ric reckons she’s dreaming if she expects him to be okay with it.
Tasha’s asks Robbie when he plans telling Beth the truth. They’re spending so much time at the apartment that she must be getting suss. Meanwhile, Colleen tells Beth that Madge Wilkins said that the tenants in Tasha’s apartment have been making a racket all morning. Beth’s is immediately suspicious when she hears this. The flat is meant to be empty – what’s going on?
Matilda wonders how Cassie is. Cassie gets a little choked up but manages to hold the tears at bay – she’ll be fine. Matilda puts a comforting arm around her friend. Matilda warns Ric if he alienates himself from Cassie, there’s no chance they’ll be able to work things out down the track… She wants him to think very carefully before he closes the door for good. Ric takes this in.
Leah’s surprised by the remoteness of their camping spot – she thought they at least have a shower block… The boys tease her, saying, if they can’t handle it … But the girls aren’t backing down. Dan challenges them by suggesting they carry the camping gear to prove they’re up to it. Leah and Sally shoot unimpressed looks at each other, but Flynn reminds them that they said they could do it! Sally and Leah have no other choice but to grin and bare it.
Sally and Leah have set up the tents and are becoming less interested in this whole experience – but they can’t tell the boys that! The girls start to get suspicious why the boys are taking so long to collect firewood, only to discover them sitting quietly in the river, drinking their beers, relaxing. Later, Dan reckons they’ve hassled the girls enough for one day and they should go easy on them. The others agree. But when they arrive back at the campsite the tents are down, nothing’s set up – and there’s a note from the girls… ‘The slaves have gone!’
Playful fun with Robbie and Tasha as Robbie sets up his brick/plank shelves. Tasha is amused and reckons as soon as they get some spare cash – they’ll buy a proper bookcase. Robbie starts to chase Tasha around when they hear a voice from behind – ‘I love what you’ve done with the place’. They spin around to see Beth standing at the door – they’ve been sprung!
Ric tells Cassie, he’s moving out. Cassie’s taken aback by this, insisting he can’t move out just because they’re not together anymore. Ric can’t see any other way around it. He loves her – he wishes he could pretend he’s okay about this but he’s not, so he can’t. He’s out of here.
The boys are scratching from mosquito bites and they’re all uncomfortable with sunburn, Flynn especially… Dan goes off for a pit stop and heads over behind some bushes. Scott and Flynn continue talking for a bit then they hear Dan yell… Flynn and Scott rush over to see him dangling off a cliff, holding on for his life! Hang on, they’ll help him! Flynn and Scott manage to pull Dan to safety but Flynn loses his balance and ends up falling from the cliff! Dan and Scott peer down they see Flynn at the bottom – dead still…
