Extended Summary
After finding out that the deposit box was empty, Morag picks up the investigation and has called in a favour to check the CCTV footage of the place from the previous day. The Manager fast forwards through the surveillance tape for her. Finally, someone appears at Kerry’s safety deposit box and removes an envelope from it… The person turns around Morag’s suspicions are confirmed – it’s Hyde!
Hayley tells Irene she’s going to take Kim away for the night and to get his mind off things. Irene thinks that’s a good idea. Robbie and Tasha are staying the night anyway so she won’t be stuck all by herself. But as Robbie and Tasha get in to bed, Tasha hears a noise outside. Robbie heads out to see what it is and gets a shock when he’s confronted by a hooded intruder. Robbie tries to stop the intruder moving towards the bedrooms but he’s knocked out of the way and Tasha saves the day hitting the intruder with a lamp. The lights come on and the intruder scurries out. The police arrive and Irene confirms nothing’s missing. Robbie tells Fitzgerald what happened, but he’s clearly embarrassed it was Tasha who managed to send the intruder packing. Later, Tasha tries to talk to Robbie and re-assure him he did what he could, and shouldn’t feel bad… But Robbie doesn’t respond, this is obviously playing on his mind…
Morag comes stomping in to the secretary’s office, determined to tackle Hyde, but she pulls up when she hears him on the phone in his office “Yes, I cleared the box out before Kim got there. Don’t worry, he didn’t find it, the secret’s safe…” The door swings opens and Barry quickly hides the envelope as Morag comes striding in, confronting him. Morag sees Barry’s hand move quickly away from where he hid the letter but she doesn’t let on. Morag confronts him with the CCTV footage and Hyde insists he’s trying to protect Kim. Unable to get any more out of him Morag moves out.
Dan and Leah are surprised to see Theo at the front door and it quickly becomes clear that something’s wrong. Theo explains Leah’s grandfather is dying and the family’s going over to Cypress to say goodbye… In the kitchen, Leah’s cranky that Dan won’t be going to Greece with her. Dan approaches – please don’t be like this, if I could go I would… Leah’s tensions which have been simmering since the baby thing now take over. She tells Dan he should forget it, she’ll be fine without him. Dan doesn’t want her to go with things like this between them but Leah can’t hang around and talk, they have to hit the road. Her family needs her…
The secretary moves back to her desk as Morag returns (she’s been waiting out of sight for Barry to leave). She says she left her bag in Hyde’s office…ever so stupid of her! She moves inside to get it and after checking that Hyde’s secretary can’t see her, Morag ferrets around in Hyde’s desk and finds the letter (from the Safety deposit box). She smiles to herself – Bingo!
Morag emerges from the school, just managing to avoid being seen by Sally and Dan. Sally gives Dan some words of comfort but Dan’s clearly affected by how Leah left. Hyde sees them and smiles – perfect timing, I’d like you to meet the new drama teacher… Dan and Sally spin around to see Amanda… Dan is stunned to his core… Meanwhile, Morag pulls the letter from her bag and opens it. She scans the letter…and her face fills with horror as she simply mutters ‘Oh my God!’
