Leah and Dan’s marriage is on the line as they struggle to come to terms with the realisation they can’t have a baby. Ric’s aggression towards Aden spills over on the rugby field, with devastating consequences. Fate steps between Lucas and Matilda’s first kiss.

Extended Summary

Leah sits in stunned silence – she doesn’t understand how something like this could happen? What could have damaged her fallopian tubes? Flynn explains it’s most likely the result of a recent infection. Leah thinks – but I haven’t had… then she remembers the swab Flynn left inside her. Flynn nods grimly, guilt rising – because of his stuff up, Leah is infertile!

A rugby training session is in full swing; Alf and Tony yell out encouragement to the boys. The players are going at it pretty hard – especially Aden. Aden heckles Ric, unimpressed by his performance on the field. Alf echoes Aden’s comments, telling Ric he needs to be more like Aden. It’s the last thing Ric needs to hear, especially from his own Grandad. He turns away to see Aden rush off and greet Cassie with a kiss – more salt in the wound!

Leah can’t believe this is happening. It was only this morning that she was doing a pregnancy test and now she’s being told she will never be able to have any children again. Flynn reminds her there’s still IVF. The scarred fallopian tubes shouldn’t affect the quality of her eggs, just her ability to get pregnant via normal means. It’s cold comfort for Leah, who’s distraught and starting to shut down. Flynn gives them time alone as Dan tries to reassure Leah that everything is going to be alright. She starts to break down and Dan holds her close. Outside the room, Flynn can hear Leah crying, painfully aware this is his fault…

Matilda reveals to Cassie that she hasn’t kissed Lucas yet and she doesn’t want their first time to be a stage kiss. Meanwhile, Lucas confides the same to Ric. Cassie and Ric smile – they reckon it might be a good idea for them to get some practice in first! Lucas comes in looking for Matilda. It’s all very nervous and awkward again (as Lucas tries to muster the courage to kiss her). But as he starts to lean in to give her a kiss, they’re interrupted by Tony.

Cassie’s invited Aden to dinner and he’s charming the socks off Sally and Flynn, much to Ric’s annoyance. Talk turns to the Rugby team and Aden is excited that a selector will be checking them out next week. He reckons the team are good enough to impress the socks off anyone – there’s not one weak link. Ric speaks up – that’s not what you said to me earlier. The tension between them is clear… and Cassie’s not impressed with Ric! Meanwhile, Lucas heads out to the backyard where Matilda is waiting on the other side of the fence. Lucas goes to climb over but he loses his balance, sending the bin crashing to the ground. Matilda suppresses her laughter – and in the awkward funny moment, they’re just about to kiss – when Tony interrupts them. Damn!

Leah is lost in thought on the beach when Dan tentatively approaches and sits next to her. Leah’s been thinking – maybe they should go their separate ways. Dan can’t believe what he’s hearing, but he doesn’t even get a chance to protest as Leah moves off, without turning back. Stunned, Dan catches up her and asks what the hell’s going on?! Leah thinks that it’s not fair on him to stay with her – he wants more children and she can’t give them to him. Dan says he’s not going anywhere. Leah is all he needs. He pulls her into a tight hug – their love is so strong, but even that can’t take away her pain.

The middle of a rugby training session: Aden is back to being “jock boy” taunting Ric. The boys continue playing a hard game… but then Ric goes too far and tackles Aden to ground roughly. Aden doesn’t move – he’s out cold. What the hell has Ric done?!
