Extended Summary
Having just come out of jail, Alf is finding it difficult being around people so soon. He’s forcing himself to do the right thing and apologises to Beth for his outburst at Lucas and Matilda. Beth isn’t coming to see him about that – she wants to see how he’s getting on and asks if Alf would like to work behind the counter at the bar for a couple of hours – she’s down on staff. Alf is clearly reticent but agrees. Getting out there and facing the world is not something he is looking forward to. He later enters the Surf Club, a few point and whisper which makes him feel even worse but he has to stay. Beth shows him what needs to be taken care of and heads off, leaving a shaky Alf alone behind the bar. A couple of rowdy kids are acting up in the games room, he tries to ignore it, but when he sees them picking on a nerdy kid he snaps – storms across, pushes them off the kid and goes off his brain about bullying. Beth hurries in and breaks it up – Alf scurries off, taken aback by his own outburst. Poor Alf is a man on the edge…

Bob freaks out, gets in his car and drives off – Morag can’t stop him!
Peter interviews Morag who is initially uncooperative. Peter puts the heat on and she reluctantly tells him the whole story. A stunned Peter berates her for her stupidity in not coming to them to handle the situation – they might have lost their only chance at discovering the killer! Morag is devastated to hear Peter is charging her with obstructing a police investigation! The discussion is interrupted by Bob calling Morag’s mobile – Peter wants to intercept to find out the location of the call, but she convinces Peter to let her work on the police’s behalf to try and draw Bob out. She tells Bob that she hasn’t told the police a thing and that they should meet up again. Eventually he agrees. This may be their chance to find out who the killer is! Peter wires Morag up so the police can listen in on the conversation and swoop in at the appropriate moment. In return for this, Morag won’t be charged.
