Extended Summary

There’s still no sign of Ella or Charity and Tasha is starting to stress. To calm her, and himself, Robbie agrees to head out and look for them. He passes the spot where Charity’s car was parked, not seeing one of Ella’s dummies on the ground. Martha soon arrives at the house and immediately realizes something’s wrong. Tasha tells her they think Charity has taken Ella, with Irene quick to remind her that they aren’t certain of that. Martha calls Jack at the Station as Robbie continues to search, this time finding Ella’s dummy! His face falls as he picks it up. Tasha is near tears when she sees the dummy – perhaps Charity was a part of the Believers all along and she’s taken Ella to Mumma Rose! Martha reminds her that Mumma Rose is in a psych hospital, to which Jack arrives reporting that she’s just escaped from there! Meanwhile, Charity pulls up outside a country house and is greeted by Mumma Rose, who quickly takes Ella and welcomes her ‘home’… At the Station, McGrath and Jack decide the best course of action and tell everyone to sit tight and let the police do their job. Tasha breaks down, overwhelmed with it all and angry that she didn’t see through Charity’s act.

Meanwhile, Ella lays in her new crib as Charity & Mumma Rose look on ‘lovingly’. Charity is thanked for her hard work, then sent out to get supplies for tomorrows ‘day of deliverance’, when the Believers will be lead to Eternal Enlightenment. Poor little Ella remains in the crib, oblivious to the danger she’s in… Having spent the night at the Station, the group is weary – Tasha hasn’t slept a wink and snaps at Irene – this is all your fault for leaving Ella with Charity in the first place! Robbie tries to calm her. McGrath gives Tasha a form to fill out for the report and as she does so, she stops – jots the date again, then looks at the numbers tattooed on her foot by the Believers – 21006 – it’s today’s date… her eyes widen with horror. Meanwhile, the Believers are preparing for the ceremony – Mumma Rose wonders if Charity’s back from gathering supplies yet? She’s taking a while… Back at the Station, McGrath hurries in – they’ve found Charity & she’s being brought in, but there’s no sign of Ella. Charity is led into the interview room and doesn’t respond to Jack’s questioning. Tasha wants to talk with her – McGrath won’t allow a kidnap victims mother confront the accused – but what about Irene? McGrath allows her to enter. Irene is calm and rational, reminding her that she’s special to them and that Mumma Rose isn’t showing her love, she’s using Charity. Irene continues along this vein, until Charity finally caves and gives Irene the address of where Mumma Rose and Ella are. Bingo. Charity then reveals that they need to hurry – Ella is to be exorcised of all demons with a purification by fire! Now concerned, Mumma Rose gets Jim to go looking for Charity – she’s taken too long… We go out on a deranged Mumma Rose – it’s pretty clear that Ella is in serious danger…

Brad, Rachel & Kim are at Sally’s having a dinner party and having a great time. Sally starts to clear the table; Brad helps her, thanking her for tonight. They share a warm smile, while Rachel clocks the interaction between her brother and Sally. As the party wraps up, Brad explains he’s heading into work tomorrow to get some preparation done for his Monday classes – Sally offers to help him out, he appreciates it. Sally moves off to grab something she needed to return to Kim, allowing Rachel to casually comment to Brad that he and Sally seem to be getting on really well. Brad’s pleased, but defensive – it’s only friendship, nothing more. Rachel makes it clear that she wasn’t implying anything more than friendship with her comment and is left curious to Brad’s reaction…

The next day, Brad is at work, when he glances down at his wedding ring, reflectively. He’s interrupted by Sally’s arrival – she’s bright and bubbly, chatting away – and Brad forces himself to join in. But as Sally settles down opposite him and starts to pull files out, Brad glances from her, back to his wedding ring – clearly with something on his mind…
