Martha struggles to keep Lou’s lecherous advances at bay. Meanwhile Cam is wrestling with his conscience – will he help Martha at the expense of his club? Finally he acts, bursting into the dressing room and rescuing Martha. Lou is furious with him and calls the deal off. Cam comforts Martha, claiming he had no idea Lou was capable of such actions. Cam soon becomes despondent, without Lou’s backing he’ll lose the club. Desperate to pay the loan sharks, Cam steals money from the Diner. Martha is later outraged when Jack suggests Cam might be the culprit.
Naomi arrives in Summer Bay to take up a teaching position at the high school. It’s soon clear she has a mysterious connection with Lucas, whom she tutored at the writer’s camp. When she drops by the Hunter House looking for him, she finds Tony overcome with grief. The deep despair he’s been harbouring over Beth’s death has momentarily surfaced. Naomi kindly comforts him.
Unbeknown to Tony, Naomi is secretly shocked by the realization Lucas is a high school student. She confronts Lucas over this and we discover the pair had a heated relationship at the writer’s camp, based on the premise Lucas was a uni student. He apologises for not telling her the truth, but doesn’t think it should change anything. After all, they both have strong feelings for each other. The pair soon finds themselves locked in a passionate kiss. But worried about the possible effect on her career, Naomi soon decides she can’t continue the relationship. Lucas is left deeply disappointed.
Meanwhile, Martha has discovered the money Cam stole from the Diner. Jack was right – Cam is the thief!
