Extended Summary
In an effort to impress Geoff, Tam tries to pass off the stolen scooter as her own. The pair really starts to bond after she defends him to some school bullies. Worried Tam is a bad influence, Annie later counsels Geoff to keep his distance. Angered by Annie’s interference, Tam seeks revenge – convincing Annie that Lucas is in love with her. With a surge of courage, Annie declares her feelings to him, sealing the confession with a kiss. Totally thrown, Lucas gently pushes her away and explains he doesn’t feel the same way about her. Hurt and humiliated, Annie flees the scene…
Meanwhile, Sally has managed to track down the phone number for the retreat where Tam’s mother is staying. Although the rules prohibit visitors, Sally manages to arrange a phone for Tam to make a phone call once a week. However, Sally makes it clear to Tam that she’ll only make this happen if Tam agrees to temper her behaviour and abide by the house rules. Tam initially refuses to do the deal, but Brad talks her around.
At the Surf Club, Rachel has been stood up by Leah. However, Lewis steps in to keep her company. The pair hit it off and end up back at Rachel’s house, kissing passionately and tearing at each other’s clothes…
Still reeling after Lucas’s rejection and feeling incredibly homesick, Annie decides to run away. She sneaks out of bed and catches a bus to the farm – determined to move back in with her pop. However, stubborn old Bruce coldly turns her away. Feeling the burn of rejected yet again, she turns on her heal and runs back the way she came. Sobbing uncontrollably, and on the brink of emotional exhaustion, Annie collapses in one of the paddocks. Alone in the darkness, curled into a ball, she rocks herself backwards and forwards, backwards and forwards, sobbing in misery. Poor Annie!
