Will Ric get away with cheating on Matilda? Pippa struggles to deal with Brad’s absence. Rachel gets huge news.
Extended Summary
Pippa is having trouble understanding that Brad is gone for good now, and quickly begins imagining he is there, saving seats for him to sit in and the like. Sally is worried, but is reminded that as a girl she had an imaginary friend herself named Milco, and this is just Pippa’s way of dealing with the loss of her father figure.
Ric wakes up next to Viv and is instantly hit with guilt. When Cassie learns he didn’t come home she goes immediately to the caravan to confront him, but Viv denies his presence and slams the door in the face of Cassie’s onslaught. When Ric gets dressed to leave, going into damage control, she’s actually a little surprised by her disappointment at seeing him go. When Cassie confronts him he denies anything happened and points out that Matilda’s not the only one hurting from the break up.
Ric and Viv agree that it was a one time affair, and Viv is going back to her marriage to give it another go. But just as it seems Ric’s gotten away with it Cassie finds his tie amongst the bedclothes in Viv’s caravan. She’s justly furious but finds Ric on the verge of consoling things with Matilda. He insists she keep it to herself, it’s none of her business and it will only hurt Matilda. She’s torn between telling her friend the truth and saving her from heart break.
Rachel and Lewis are enjoying having the town house to themselves so much that Lewis suggests maybe they could move in together. Rachel is taken completely by surprise, but perhaps it’s not such a bad idea. Then, after a few dizzy spells, Rachel faints at work, and wakes up to some startling news. She’s pregnant.
