It’s time for Jazz to go her own way. An old favourite returns to the Bay, but who are they and why the secrecy? Christine follows through with her threat.
Extended Summary
When Rachel finds out what Jazz did to her on the day of Tony’s reunion, she has some words of her own for Jazz. But despite everything, she sees in Jazz a woman in need, and can’t fight her instinct to help. Talking through Jazz’s reasons for coming back to Summer Bay and her attempts to become a better person, Rachel suggests that pretending to be someone she’s not probably isn’t the best way. Jazz realises that to move forward in her life, she’ll have to leave the Bay.
After a mysterious phone call, Irene meets someone in a car park by night, and returns with Oliver, a three year old boy not in a good way. She calls Rachel to ask her to take a look at the boy, making up the story that she found the boy alone on the beach. But when Rachel arrives with Jack Irene has trouble hiding her dismay.
Whatever the truth is, she didn’t want to get the police involved. When he suggests bringing DOCS into things, Irene insists she can take care of the boy herself. Rachel, however, has other plans. This boy needs to go straight to hospital. Whatever is going on, it’s getting out of hand.
In considerable regret over taking Melody to the party in the first place, Geoff is dreading the fallout, hoping that Christine won’t follow through with her threat. Angry at the way Melody’s being treated, Annie thinks Melody should leave home and come and stay with them, but the fact of the matter is Christine’s parenting is far from negligent, and while her strictness might be questionable, it stems from love.
For his part, Geoff would prefer to try sitting down and talking things through reasonably with Christine. But there’s little chance of that when Jack arrives with an AVO for Geoff.
