Jai arrives in Summer Bay. Why is Melody so deeply shaken? Is Belle kidding herself?
Extended Summary
The day has finally come for Miles to pick up Jai, and the boy is no more willing to make an effort than the last time they met. Even upon arriving to a big welcome at Summer Bay House, complete with chocolate cake, his replies are monosyllabic and disinterested. He simply doesn’t believe this will last. Miles has already abandoned him once before, and he’s convinced he will be abandoned once again, sooner rather than later.
After busting Nicole for holding her party, Roman has her washing dishes in the Diner, and she’s not impressed. But when Roman lays down exactly how her party affected Leah and the Den’s opening, it actually drives her to personally apologise to Leah. However slowly, is Nicole learning from her mistakes?
Taking a stroll along the beach, Belle spies a wet, shirtless Aden going for a swim. Making sure that nobody can see her, she begins to snap away with her camera. Is he getting to her more than she’ll admit?
After Nicole’s party, Melody seems far more effected than should be explained by her break up. She’s become withdrawn and quiet, and is suddenly behaving as the perfect obedient daughter. When Annie visits to check on her, Melody tells her to leave, but not before she lets slip mention of the party in front of Christine.
Geoff can hardly believe it when the police arrive to charge him for violating his AVO, especially since he did so to break up with Melody. Though the police are sympathetic, the law’s clear, and Geoff will have to go to court. Meanwhile, Axel is unusually interested in how Melody was after the party, and that night he approaches her window. He explains that he doesn’t remember anything that happened, and suggests that she doesn’t either. Melody agrees, but when he’s gone we find her deeply shaken and in tears. What really happened at the party?
