Kirsty moves into the caravan park. Larry is back on the bottle, but will Aden find out? Will Matilda put Ric’s interests before her own?
Extended Summary
Kirsty is on a mission to get her life on track and is desperately looking for a new job so she can move out of Irene’s and let her have her room back. When Miles offers her a free van until she finds work, she can’t refuse. However, her joy at starting to find her way is bittersweet, for she will be doing it without her husband.
Meanwhile, Larry is pleased when Aden lets slip that he is seeing Belle but is shocked when she turns up at the house and catches him swigging whisky. He is not the only one who is shocked; poor Belle doesn’t know what to do. Larry begs her not to tell Aden, and despite Matilda’s attempts to persuade her otherwise, she eventually decides that to save Aden’s feelings, she will keep quiet. But, has she made the right decision?
Rachel puts Ric’s anxiety attack down to the stress of the robbery and advises him to take some time off work. Much to Matilda’s delight, she also persuades him to see a counsellor. But Ric is reluctant to take too much time off, he has to pay Alf back for the loan and he won’t be able to do it without an income.
Matilda is upset about Ric and can’t hold back when she sees Kirsty in the diner. She launches into an attack on her, saying that Kane deserves to be in gaol for what he did to Ric. Ric is shocked when Kirsty later turns up to apologise – he tells her there’s no need, Kane’s actions are not Kirsty’s fault.
In an attempt to get him to slow down Alf has put an offer forward that Ric just can’t refuse, a partnership in a bait shop. It will be a low-stress option, a family business. Of course, Ric jumps at the idea and can’t wait to tell Matilda.
Meanwhile, Matilda has received an interesting offer herself. A letter has arrived from Western Australia University accepting her into her dream course. How will she react when Ric tells her about his new business venture, and how will she tell him about her university news? Could she turn down the offer and put Ric’s interests ahead of hers?
