She admits that she caught him drinking, and Aden’s furious. Not just at his father for betraying him, but at Belle as well for keeping it from him. Soon afterwards Aden arrives home and begins ransacking it to find his father’s hidden stash.
Larry tries to calm him and make excuses, but as Aden finds bottle after bottle, his excuses fall apart. Overwhelmed by a sense of anger and betrayal, Aden packs as much as he can, he’s moving back out. But with nowhere to stay, he sneaks into the Diner to sleep, as Larry falls back on the booze to console himself.
Rachel speaks to Dr Fagan about a patient who came into the hospital after the same procedure went wrong for him, and had to be put on life support, Rachel is left with some considerable doubts. Is she willing to risk the man she loves and her worry for his safety overcomes her, as she asks Tony not to go through with it after all. Tony is taken aback, perhaps a little relieved at first, but after some soul searching, he decides he’s going through with it anyway, for her, and for their chance at happiness together as a family.
Despite their agreement to do their best at a long distance relationship, things are still tense between Ric and Matilda. Every conversation seems to lead to an argument. After advice from Alf, Ric confronts some unfortunate truths. He and Matilda are just heading in different directions, and maybe it would be best not fight it any more. He thinks they should end it properly, rather than draw it out attempting a long distance relationship.
Matilda is shocked and upset, but seeing no other option, agrees, and decides to move out. Ric hadn’t planned on her leaving immediately, but she can’t keep up their relationship knowing they’re only going to break up. If they’re going to end it, they’ll have to end it now.
