Has Axel gone too far this time? Will Larry do the right thing? Aden knows who is behind the crash.
Extended Summary
Dazed and confused after his crash, Larry staggers out of the car to find Jai and Axel lying face down on the road, unmoving. Overcome by fear, Larry climbs back into his car and drives away. The sound of the retreating car rouses Jai, relatively unscathed, but Axel is far, far worse off. Rushed to hospital, Axel sent straight into surgery while Jai is questioned by police. Unfortunately, all he can remember of the car that hit them is that it was a silver station wagon.
Gripped by fear, guilt and panic, as Larry gets home and sees the damage done to his car, he struggles to decide whether to call in the accident or do a runner. Belle soon gets a call from him, he wants her to tell Aden that he’s sorry, and that he’s getting out of his son’s life for good. Sure enough, they find the house empty. But while Belle is convinced Larry is trying to do what’s best for Aden, Aden recognises the car in Jai’s description. His father’s car is a silver station wagon. Belle can’t believe Larry could be responsible, but after she leaves, Aden finds Larry’s shirt, still bloodstained from the crash, and he’s left with little doubt. The only question that remains is; will he tell the police?
When it appears that Axel has been stabilised, Jai finally agrees to go home and rest, though filled with worry for his friend. As news spreads of the accident, even Geoff and Annie feel bad for Axel. Despite the severity of the accident, at length it seems that Axel will be alright, after a very lengthy recovery, and then something goes wrong. Even though Axel is in emergency things take a sudden turn for the worse, it’s no good. He’s dead.
