Later, Ross presents Morag with a gold bracelet he chose for her and she is delighted. Morag tops his gift by giving him an expensive trip to Europe.
Annie’s worry for Jai deepens when she questions him about his dangerous cliff jump that she witnessed. Jai explains that he did it to test out his theory; he’s invincible. After all the near misses he has been involved in and come out of unscathed, he is convinced it’s true, he is just not meant to die.
With Matilda at university, Ric is pining but has found an understanding friend in Kirsty, who persuades him to give Matilda a call. When he does, however, he is shocked to hear a male voice at the end of the line. It is Matilda’s Residential Advisor and new admirer, Nathan, who picked up her phone when she left it behind. Heartbroken, Ric can’t believe she got over him so soon after their break up – how could she? But little does he know that Matilda hasn’t got over him – she is missing him like crazy. She can’t stop thinking about him and is unaware that he had even tried to call.
Kirsty gets on so well with everyone at Summer Bay House that Miles asks her if she’d like to move in – it would give her more space than the van. Kirsty is thrilled and accepts straight away. Miles casually mentions this while getting some things from Leah and does not catch the look that Leah has in her eye, is there some jealousy simmering? Ric tells Kirsty how pleased he is that she will be moving in, she has been such a great support with the whole Matilda thing and he doesn’t know what he would have done without her. But then without thinking and caught up in a moment, he moves in and kisses Kirsty. What is Ric doing and will he regret this?
