Extended Summary

It is the day before Tony and Rachel’s wedding but Rachel isn’t in the mood to celebrate. Feeling super stressed she can’t help but snap at Tony – then wonders if it is a good sign to be arguing so close to the wedding. As Tony is enjoying his buck’s night, Rachel doesn’t feel the same about her hen’s night and heads off home in the middle of Colleen’s trivia quiz. At home she takes a suitcase out to her car. As she notices that the boot of the car has been tampered with, Jimmy curiously appears from behind – he’s holding a present which he wants to give her.

After a heroic rescue by Miles, Jai is in hospital recovering from being pushed off the pier by Matthew. Humbled by the fact that Miles saved his life, and realising that he is not as invincible as he had thought, Jai is again struggling to find the answer to all the losses he has experienced in his life. He opens up to Miles and it brings them closer than ever before – Miles feels that he is finally getting somewhere with Jai. Meanwhile Annie decides to open up and tell a relieved Irene about what happened on the roof. The air cleared, Irene agrees the ban on Annie and Jai seeing each other can be lifted – the two of them are back on track!

Emotional at the events of the day, Miles confides in Kirsty about how much his conversation with Jai meant to him. Kirsty pulls Miles into a hug and as he clings to her for comfort she reaches up and kisses him – and Miles is right into it. Could this be the beginning of something special?

Meanwhile, Aden is reeling at Larry’s confession that Aden’s grandfather abused Larry as well. Larry is in pain and Aden takes off to get whisky and painkillers, but when he returns he decides against giving Larry his medication and because Aden hasn’t called the cops on him, Larry takes this as a sign that Aden has agreed to go on the run with him but Aden has other ideas. As his condition worsens, Larry quickly realises that he needs medical care or he could die. Eerily calm, Aden tells him he will be right there to watch it happen and that they’re not going anywhere. Has Aden found a way to be rid of his father for good?
