Olympic return episode. Tragedy strikes Summer Bay as Martha and Jack’s special day ends in heartbreak. Waking from unconsciousness, Roman finds himself trapped in a deadly situation.
Extended Summary
Jack, Alf and Colleen watch in horror as doctors try to revive Martha after she collapsed on her wedding day. Finally, a rhythm registers on the heart monitor and they breathe a sigh of relief, however, concern lingers over the status of the baby. When an ultrasound is performed, they are unable to find a heartbeat and it seems the baby Martha has been dreaming about hasn’t survived. Martha and Jack’s day of wedding bliss has ended in complete devastation.
When the Bait Shop is broken into Alf notices that some scuba gear has gone missing. He tells Charlie he suspects Elliot could be back in town and responsible for the burglary. Charlie fears something untoward is going on when she learns no-one has heard from Roman all afternoon and Geoff and Nicole were last seen getting on a boat with a man who could be Elliot. When a boat containing Geoff’s wallet is washed up on the beach, it’s enough to make Charlie to persuade Harper to send out a search party.
Meanwhile, a panicked Geoff searches for Nicole on a deserted island. He eventually finds her washed up on the shore, unconscious. He manages to resuscitate her but, once conscious she’s freaked out by what happened and what Elliot will do to Roman. Geoff tries to re-assure her that if they were able to survive Elliot, Roman will be able to handle him easily.
Waking from unconsciousness (induced by Elliot’s drugged liquid), Roman finds himself dangling by a rope over a dangerous precipice. Elliot is menacing as he tells Roman that if he can get out he’ll see signs that will lead him to his daughter.
Roman somehow manages to find the strength to climb up the cliff and starts to follow red rags that point into dense bush. He pushes through a course that Elliot has laid out for him, all the time being watched from a distance by Elliot. Despite traps, falling rocks and being shot by an arrow, Roman eventually hears Nicole’s voice calling him to help. However, he soon discovers it is just a stereo that has been set up to play a recording of Nicole’s speech – it has all been a trick!
Furious and frustrated, he starts to walk away but hits a tripwire. It is then that Elliot appears and tells him ‘one move and you’re dead’.
