Extended Summary
Miles is concerned that Kirsty isn’t coping after she lost it with Jai for leaving Ollie alone when he was supposed to be looking after him. She’s angry at herself for going on a walk with Miles in the first place, when she should have stayed with Ollie. She tells Miles she thinks their relationship has moved too quickly considering they are both responsible for children with high needs. Jai overhears Kirsty telling Miles that she wants to move out so he cooks a special dinner in the hope that she will change her mind – and it works, Kirsty decides to stay in the Summer Bay House after all. Meanwhile, Kirsty is on the receiving end of Bartlett’s generosity again, firstly offering her a room in his house and secondly dropping off cup cakes for Ollie. Kirsty is starting to question what is behind these acts of kindness.
When Roman tells Belle that Aden wants her to go and see him she’s immediately reluctant. But the guilt of not going gets to be too much and she ends up visiting him. And with this, her worst fears are confirmed when she realises that Aden is not remorseful for trying to kill his own father. She’s horrified by the person he’s become and tells him she can’t be with someone who could scare her as much as he did. Aden’s left devastated and heart-broken. How will he get through this now?
Meanwhile, Rachel has been in contact with the doctor who is preparing Aden’s psych report and, still angry at what Aden did to her, she tells him that Aden should be locked up. But when Larry defends his son and she sees him at the Police Station looking like a confused vulnerable child, she has a change of heart. Starting to feel some compassion for Aden she goes back to tell the Doctor that she believes Aden suffered a breakdown related to his abuse as a child.
Consequently, Aden is released on bail on the condition that he attends an adolescent clinic for counselling. When he and Roman arrive at the clinic they can scarcely believe it when they see Melody is one of the patients. What is she doing there?
