Rachel finds her way back to Tony. Why have Ross and Morag really returned early?
Extended Summary
When Alf tells Bridget the job is no longer available to her, she’s not impressed. But when Martha comes across her crying on the beach and learns that it’s because of Alf, though not knowing his reasons, she promises to help. Impressed that even with her first chemo session coming up, Martha would still go to so much effort to help a stranger, Alf offers Bridget a job in the bait shop, which she happily takes. When Bridget learns what Martha is going through, she reveals that she dealt with cervical cancer herself, and that now it’s in remission, and Martha takes strong comfort from her story.
Though pleased that Tony has talked Alf out of giving Bridget a job at the Surf Club, Rachel’s still not ready to deal with their issues. And she’s taken aback by the sudden friendship Martha’s struck with Bridget. But Martha insists Bridget is a good person, and points out that neither she nor Tony knew what they were doing was wrong, since Tony thought Rachel had left him, and Bridget was only helping a man in need. More so, she explains how hurt Tony has been by everything, how much he misses and still loves Rachel. Martha’s words hit the mark, and Rachel realises she still loves Tony, and isn’t willing to lose him. The loving couple finally find their way back to one another.
Morag and Ross return early from their honeymoon. Morag insists it is to support Martha, but things seem strained between she and Ross, and she’s being very controlling of him. Likewise, when asked about their honeymoon, she’s deliberately evasive, even going so far as to snap at Irene. Something is definitely amiss. Then, when Ross seemingly goes missing, Morag panics. Meanwhile, Ross walks along a road, disoriented, lost and confused. What’s really going on here?
