Ross’ alzheimers is breaking Ruby’s heart. How will Tony react when Rachel brings Joe home? Can Belle and Aden really work together in peace?
Extended Summary
Aden is back working at the Diner, and it’s a lot tougher working with Belle than either of them had expected, especially when Aden is forced to see Belle and Angelo together. Angelo’s jealousy over his girlfriend working so closely with her ex doesn’t help matters either.
When Aden catches Belle watching him through her camera while he swims, it seems Angelo might be right in his jealousy. And as if she wasn’t causing him enough strife, Belle accidentally lets slip her suspicions that Murray was paid off to Charlie, who quickly realises Angelo has been doing some investigating for his girlfriend. He’s let off with a warning, but it’s a close call.
Tony’s not entirely happy to discover that Rachel’s taken Joe on without consulting him. It’s a huge step, and he’s worried she’s becoming unhealthily attached to the boy. But Rachel insists there simply wasn’t time to consult him, if she hadn’t made a snap decision Joe would be on the coach to Queensland right now. Tony can only accept the situation and offer his support and understanding. But Tony’s not the only one concerned, Joe’s doctor has similar misgivings about Rachel’s involvement with Joe.
Ruby is really struggling to cope with what her father’s going through. With her mother gone, and Ross disappearing, she feels like she’s got nobody to depend on but herself, and she’s set on being strong enough to get through it on her own. But it all becomes too much for her, and the culmination of all her worry and despair explode when she sees Ross pour salt into his coffee instead of sugar. It’s a small moment, but it’s the straw that broke the camel’s back, and she runs out, crying.
