Will Christine’s pride keep her from helping her daughter? Is Ruby’s online obsession leading to trouble? Kane returns to Kirsty’s life.
Extended Summary
Though not eating, and deeply missing her father, Melody is going to great lengths to keep up appearances in front of her mother. Geoff’s shocked to learn that Melody’s no longer seeing a therapist or taking any medication, but Melody insists Christine’s prescription of a mother’s care and prayer are enough. But when she faints in front of him, it becomes obvious that it’s not. He then discovers the garbage bag full of uneaten food in her closet. At Geoff’s insistence, Melody tells her mother that in fact she’s not okay, and that she hasn’t been eating, but Christine doesn’t believe her.
Unable to sleep, Annie finds Belle’s computer still on from when Ruby was using it, and amongst other messages from her earlier chat, one of her new online friends, Skye, is asking for her address. When she lets Ruby know, she’s worried that Ruby plans to hand it over. Ruby takes it on board, but when Skye sends her a picture, it’s enough, and Ruby suggests they meet in person. Skye agrees, but doesn’t show, and when Mathew, a bully from Ruby’s class shows up instead, she takes her leave. Back online, Skye explains that she had detention, but in truth, Mathew is Skye. What does he have planned?

When she goes to retrieve a letter of reference from Mr. Bartlett, he apologises for the way he treated her, and offers to help her in any way she can. To his surprise, she asks for money.
