Has Belle found the lead she needs? Charlie’s going overboard. Ruby’s set on self destruct.
Extended Summary
Ross has only just moved in with Charlie, and she’s already got Leah’s house labelled to help him find his way around. Not only that, but she’s already thinking of finding a new place better suited to Ross’ condition and quitting her job to make time for taking care of him. Roman’s worried about how extreme she’s getting, and Ross is missing Morag already, but Charlie is oblivious.
Belle hasn’t been able to stop thinking of Aden since the court case, and now she’s avoiding Angelo. Then, out of the blue, she’s approached by an old woman. Her husband, sick in hospital, has heard of Belle’s quest against the development, and wants to talk to her. It turns out he used to work for the council during the time the toxic waste was dumped. He was one of the few who knew anything about it, and was threatened with serious repercussions if he ever spoke out. But now, since he’s so sick anyway, and they’ve decided to develop the land, he’s decided it’s time to come clean.
Belle goes immediately to find Angelo so he can take an official statement, but they get back to find out the old man has just had a stroke. It’s too late. Back home, feeling bad for using Angelo the way she has, and worried by her growing feelings for Aden, Belle decides to sleep with Angelo to affirm her commitment to him.
Deeply distressed by the turns her life has taken of late, Ruby decides the best way to take her mind off it all is to gatecrash a party on the beach. Jai and Annie aren’t so sure, but Ruby won’t be talked out of it. When they arrive, she’s already drinking, and when a game of spin the bottle starts, she’s soon pashing complete strangers. Her friends, concerned for her, try to take her home, but she refuses, and there’s nothing they can do. Ruby’s set on self destruct.
