Extended Summary
With the beach party a little calmer, and a sleazy guy trying to make moves on Ruby, she decides it’s time to head home, and Mathew insists he walk with her to make sure she gets there safe. But despite his white knight act and attempts at flirtation, she makes it clear she’s not interested. The next day, she’s just as rude, but seeing her alone, and understanding what she’s going through, he keeps trying to reach out, and she begins to wonder if she’s misjudged him. And as he continues their online conversations under the guise of Sky, he’s stoked when she reveals she’s beginning to like him.
Kirsty is already stressed about her interview at The Sands, cycling through outfits like there’s no tomorrow. Then they decide to let her go straight to a trial bar shift. She should be pleased, but she lied about her qualifications to work behind a bar on her CV. Then, while serving one of the hotel’s biggest clients, she’s accused of short changing him, and not knowing who he is, argues the point. She’s convinced she’s made a mess of it, and then they call back to offer her a job as a housekeeper.
Christine is still refusing to get proper help for Melody, instead she’s locked her in her room, allowing her out only to eat and giving her nothing to do other then schoolwork or prayer. During a visit while Christine is out, Geoff is shocked by what he hears from Melody, and when her mother gets back, he does what he can, suggesting Christine let Melody’s priest come over to counsel her.
Christine actually agrees, but when he arrives, she proposes something that disgusts him, and he takes his leave. Melody’s furious, openly abusing her mother for never listening and doing more damage than good. But her daughter’s outburst only hardens Christine’s resolve, and she decides to do herself what the priest wouldn’t. She’s going to perform an exorcism.
