Having seen Melody enter the empty house with Mathew, Kirsty is worried, and bumps into Miles on her way in. Once Miles has kicked Mathew out of the house, they try to get through to Melody together, but it’s no good. Miles is at a loss, and he’s not the only one. Nobody seems to be able to get through to Melody. She’s convinced that what guys want is a girl willing to ‘have fun’, and she’s set on becoming that girl and continuing to see Mathew. When Mathew admits that he doesn’t care at all about Melody, and only likes her because she’s easy, Geoff loses it, and the two get into a fight.
When Annie points out that the reason Melody’s gotten this idea into her head is because he’s with Nicole, he feels somewhat guilty. He tells Melody that she’s a terrific person, who deserves someone that likes her for who she is, but she tells him he no longer has the right to tell her how to behave. She wants to be with Mathew, and it’s none of his business.
Things between Alf and Bridget are going great, and with the Blaxland returning from a month long charter, she’s excited to finally see the famous boat. When she does, she’s very impressed. It’s magnificent, and must be worth a lot of money. Then Irene approaches with some great news, she’s finally received the insurance money from the old Diner, she can finally pay Leah back. Bridget shows a keen interest in that as well.
Life has been getting Leah down of late, and the ruination of her friendship with Miles is the cherry on the cake. Then Colleen overhears Miles thanking Kirsty for last night, he’s talking about her help with Melody, but Colleen draws her own conclusions. When she tells Leah Miles and Kirsty are back together it seems all hope of romance with Miles is lost. When she sees Miles walking Kirsty home from school, it only lends weight to Colleen’s news.
Leah congratulates Jai, he must be happy. Though confused at first, he’s soon ecstatic, until Kirsty has to tell him the truth. The truth is, Kirsty cares about Miles and would go back to him in a heartbeat. Little does she know, Miles has overheard the whole thing.
