Extended Summary
A search is underway for Hugo after Freya hit his boat during her joy-ride in the bait shop run-around. But as Charlie organises the police search and rescue team, Hugo casually walks into the Surf Club safe and sound after a night dive. Unaware that he had been reported as missing, He’s surprised by the joyous welcome he receives. Everyone breathes a huge sigh of relief… except Freya who did a runner as soon as she got to shore.
When Xavier finds Freya she tells him she is getting hassled by the drug dealer for the money she owes him. Scared for Freya’s safety and feeling this mess is his responsibility, Xavier says he will meet the dealers instead. When Ruby finds out she decides to sort it out once and for all – after all, it was her who took the drugs in the first place. She borrows money and gives it to Freya to pay the drug dealers – on one condition, she gets out of town. But when she sees Xavier nervously meeting the dealers she’s confused – they should already have their cash… it becomes clear that Freya’s done a runner and taken the money with her.
As the dealer plants a punch on Xavier’s face Ruby calls out to Charlie and Hugo who are nearby and rush to the rescue and subdue the dealer. We soon find Hugo cleaning Xavier’s wounds while Martha announces that a letter arrived on their doorstep for Xavier – It’s a note from Freya telling him she’s leaving Summer Bay. Xavier is devastated. He approaches Ruby to apologise for all he’s put her through, telling her he will pay her back the money as soon as he can. Could Freya’s leaving have given Xavier the closure he needs to get on with his life?
Meanwhile, Miles thinks he finally has some closure over Kirsty as he packs up the last of her things and takes them to Irene’s place. But little does he know Kirsty has turned up at Irene’s, alone and distraught after Kane ran off with Ollie over an argument. Irene agrees for her to stay at the Beach House but Kirsty doesn’t want anyone to know she is back in town. Her secret doesn’t last long – when Miles spots her getting into Irene’s car he is stunned. Are his eyes deceiving him or is the lady he loves back in Summer Bay?
