Extended Summary

Theo is making his presence felt among Leah and Roman with attempts to help and make improvements to the Diner. Leah isn’t sure how she is going to cope with having him around any longer and makes excuses to keep him away from the kitchen and from poor Roman who is also on the receiving end of his innocent suggestions. When Theo learns from VJ that he is getting on Leah’s nerves, he feels dejected and secretly books a flight back to Greece. Leah finds out and calls Helen who turns up just as Theo is about to leave… and she doesn’t look happy.

Miles is reeling over seeing Kirsty back in the Bay. Hopeful that she may have come back to see him, he heads to Irene’s to find her. When Irene lies about Kirsty’s whereabouts, Miles takes this as a sign that she doesn’t want to see him and, distracted, he wanders the beach on his way home. When he bumps into Kirsty they are both shocked. Each fearing the others’ rejection, neither is honest about their true feelings so they part, oblivious to the fact that they both want the same thing – to be back together again.

With her mother’s upcoming departure to New Zealand, Melody’s thoughts are with her family, particularly her grandmother, Audrey, who she has never had much of a relationship with. Annie suggests Melody invite Audrey over for dinner and Melody excitedly arranges a meal that night.

The dinner doesn’t quite go to plan. It seems that Christine was right when she said Audrey isn’t the woman Melody thinks she is – she snaps at Melody for bringing disgrace upon their family, by being expelled from Summer Bay High. Everyone speechless and Melody is very upset. Alf calls Christine who picks Audrey up. But when Audrey gets back to her home, she collapses with a stroke and is taken to hospital. When Christine returns and tells Melody the news, she is shocked – has Melody seen her grandmother for the last time?
