Extended Summary
Irene is still reeling after Lou’s announcement he wants to sail away with her. Irene tells him that no matter how far they go there will still be the problem of Lou’s wife. Lou tells Irene to forget her, he wants to be happy and he wants to be happy now. That means being with Irene. Irene asks Belle to take a walk with her on the beach, where she tells Belle of Lou’s offer. Belle accepts, despite the fact she’s looking very strung out. She is determined to tell Irene about her drug problem.
When Irene tells Belle about the trip and asks her if she could cope if she went Belle realises she can’t ruin Irene’s happiness. Adding to the pressure is Irene’s hope that Belle will look after Geoff and Annie. After talking to Leah and Roman about the diner, and Annie and Geoff, Irene announces she will be going on the trip. Everyone is ecstatic except Belle who is really struggling to keep it together. As Irene and Lou set sail we see a woman watching them, it’s Donna (Lou’s soon to be ex wife). Just what does she have in store for our lovers? Back at the Beach House, Annie and Geoff discuss life without Irene and Belle’s despondence, which they put down to trouble with Aden. Unbeknownst to them Belle is in her room, living a nightmare due to her withdrawals. How can she get through this and look after everyone else on her own?
Nicole sees Geoff at the surf club, and the pair share an awkward conversation about their relationship. She tries to persuade him to resume his school captaincy but he refuses. Trey arrives and makes snide remarks about Kirsty, which provokes Geoff to plaunch himself onto Trey, pushing him up against the bar and threating him to drop the allegations on Kirsty or else. Nicole later tells Roman she was impressed by his rebellious streak but mainatins she is not looking to get back with him.
Things between Roman and Leah are blossoming. Roman has been spending a lot of time with VJ who clearly adores him and the two think it’s time to break the news of their relationship to him. Leah decides to organise a dinner to get Nicole and VJ together. She asks Miles and Kirsty along to neutralise the environment. That afternoon while preparing dinner Leah broaches the topic of Roman with VJ. VJ tells her he likes Roman, Roman’s his mate. VJ also likes Roman because Leah isn’t going out with him. Leah is immediately alarmed. She decided not to tell VJ about the relationship. She manages to relay this information to Roman, as well as Miles and Kirsty but not Nicole. When Nicole arrives at the house and makes a comment to VJ about the relationship VJ is furious. He storms off telling Leah he hates her.
Kirsty is stewing over Trey’s accusation that she had a relationship with him. Apart from being untrue, they are embarrassing, and Kirsty has had enough. Miles tells her to try and relax, and stop thinking about it, but she just can’t. During a workout at the gym Nicole inadvertently brings up the subject and Kirsty is reminded of it yet again. Irene tells her that there is no way people are going to believe Trey over her, so long as she holds her head up and starts acting like someone who’s done nothing wrong. Kirsty is left with a renewed vigour.
