Extended Summary
An angry Liam wakes Belle, and tosses the morning newspaper at her. She’s confused to find a couple of the photos she’d taken of Liam and his son inside, and Liam angrily informs her that the paper is reporting that he and his wife have split up and are involved in a custody battle because he’s having a fling with Belle. Belle is adamant she didn’t sell the photos to the paper, but Liam doesn’t believe her. Belle then arranges a day pass from rehab in order to track down who sold the pics. It seems there are only a handful of options and Belle starts with Annie. She confirms that only Aden saw the shots and suggests that if he believed Belle and Liam were together, he may have sold them to the paper for revenge – Belle decides to pay him a visit.
After Charlie gives Aden a ride home from work, Aden asks her in for a coffee. They chat quietly as Roman’s asleep on the couch, but when he’s awoken by a nightmare and discovers Charlie’s there, he’s embarrassed and is rude to her and she makes a hasty retreat. Roman is frustrated. He knows something is going on between Aden and Nicole – there’s a tension between them – but neither of them will tell him anything. Aden gives Roman a serve. He points out that Roman’s been obnoxious to all his friends lately, shutting them out, and that he’s not the only person with problems – he and Nicole cannot cope alone with Romans issues. He staggers Roman by revealing Charlie’s upset at having broken up with her girlfriend. Roman knew nothing about their relationship. Stung by Aden’s home truths, and intrigued by his news about Charlie, Roman pays her a visit. To Charlie’s surprise she finds that she can talk to Roman, and finally she’s able to open up to someone about how she’s feeling about Joey leaving. Roman too discovers he is able to talk to Charlie, and she tells him that he needs to start dealing with the root cause of his blindness. He is about to open up to her about something when Leah arrives home, and he puts up his defences once more, hastily making an exit.
With Roman out of the house, Nicole gets a chance to talk to a reluctant Aden. Nicole thinks that seeing as they’ve had sex a couple of times they should consider seeing each other. But Aden, full of guilt and regret after promising Roman he’d never touch Nicole, is dead against it. He means it, but passion overcomes him again and fiery love making follows which only ramps up Aden’s guilt.Belle’s timing could not be worse – anxious to ask Aden about the photo’s, she walks in on Aden and Nicole having sex.
The couple don’t spot her and she makes a swift exit, and is later comforted by a concerned Leah, who reports to Belle that the Rehab centre had expected her back by now. Belle resolves to go back, but not before a final visit to Aden – she berates him about sleeping with Nicole and he berates her for what he believes is a fling with Liam, only for Roman to return and overhear the details of what’s been going on between Aden and Nicole – and he’s not happy.
Belle returns to the Rehab centre, distraught that she was unable to figure out who sold the photo’s, and by the fact that she is forced to take a drugs test for being back late – she has broken trust with the centre. Liam appears an Belle begins to apologise profusely for not finding things out but he tells her not to worry. He has got his lawyer on the case and discovered that a photo shop worker took an extra copy of the prints to sell to the paper. Belle is relieved that Liam is no longer mad at her and that the mystery has been solved, but the rest of the days events have quite clearly taken their toll on her.
