Extended Summary
Gardy is tying up Jenena and Trey, and is about to take Jenena away – she is a bank manager and he intends for her to give him the codes to rob a bank. Nicole manages to call Roman at the Diner and he goes to the rescue, calling Charlie in to help. Gardy hears noises from the bedroom where Nicole is hiding and goes to search – but just as he is about to find Nicole, Roman comes in and wrestles Gardy to the ground. He sees that it’s Gardy but lets him go and tells Charlie that he didn’t recognise the intruder. Nicole too did not recognise him, but Trey was able to identify the gun he used from the military knowledge that John has passed to him – it is one commonly used in the SAS. Roman insists Nicole keep staying with Charlie and she is heartbroken. Charlie suspects that the attack on Jenena may be linked to the bottle shop robbery and can’t help thinking maybe Gardy is involved, especially given that the gun has SAS connections. Roman reluctantly agrees to help Gardy with the robbery if it will get Gardy off his back once and for all. Charlie asks Roman about Gardy but he vouches for him, assuring her that he is a good guy.
Claudia tells Geoff that her parents kicked her out of home after they heard about the baby and she has nowhere else to go. Belle agrees that she can stay with them. Claudia and Geoff ask Belle not to tell Irene about the baby just yet, until they can sort out exactly what they want to do. Claudia admits to Annie she’s thinking about having an abortion. Annie tells Geoff, who confronts Claudia about it. Although an abortion is against his beliefs she insists it’s her choice – however she does promise not to make a decision until she’s talked to him. The enormity of all these events starts to make Geoff feel pressured on all sides, especially when Bartlett tells him that best way to provide for his child will be to do well in his upcoming exams. He decides to take off out bush for a few days to think about things – Claudia can’t believe it.
Angelo is having trouble finding evidence to clear Irene. Irene continues to drink in gaol, and when Belle visits she insists that Geoff and Annie are still not allowed to visit her. Belle isn’t happy about the fact that Irene cancelled her appointment with the prison Doctor, but Irene gets irate with all her questions before finally admitting she is still drinking. Belle tells her she must regain her sobriety for not only herself but those who love her. Irene breaks down, admitting that she believes herself to be pathetic. Angelo goes over Lou’s boat again, but his hunt for evidence to clear Irene is proving fruitless. He is looking for a clue but it doesn’t look hopeful.
