Extended Summary
After finding Xavier at the helm of Hugo’s car and driving without a licence, Angelo hauls them both back into the police station. He reads them the riot act, and tells them they’re lucky he’s only going to fine Xavier. The lecture and the penalty however simply fuel Xavier’s hatred of Angelo. Hugo can’t stand the man either, but he’s careful to try and hose Xavier down. Neither of them needs trouble with the cops. The following day in the Diner, Xavier cannot help but make derogatory remarks about Angelo, his anger clearly not harnessed. Later that night, when he comes across Angelo’s car by chance, Xavier can’t resist the temptation and slashes his tyre, only to be caught – by Hugo. Xavier gets a telling off and heads home, but when Hugo turns to go too, he finds himself face-to-face with Angelo – a slashed tyre and a knife in his hand, means Hugo’s busted big time!
Jai’s miserable. He and Annie have broken up over the issue of sex, and Miles has grounded and punished him for his trouble with Trey at the school assembly. Jackson, a friend, calls him over when Jai arrives at school and shoves a soft porn magazine at him. Hearing of his problems with Annie he thinks Jai could do with it. Jai doesn’t even get to look at it, before, in a fit of anger at home, he roughly throws his bag down and doesn’t see the magazine fall out.
Annie is unhappy with Irene letting Claudia stay in the house, but she has more pressing issues to discuss with her, namely her situation with Jai. Irene advises Annie that whilst Jai’s methods of raising the subect were wrong, his thoughts were perfectly natural for a boy of his age, and suggests Annie might think about giving him a second chance. Annie goes to see Jai, suggesting they talk, which they do on their way back to school – Annie explains her point of view, and Jai insists that despite the fact that he thinks about it, he wasn’t trying to pressure her. With the air cleared, they admit that they’ve missed each other and Jai invites Annie for for dinner, an invite which she happily accepts.
Later, Alf discovers the magazine that’s fallen out of Jai’s bag, and assumes it’s Miles’ and puts it with some marking that Miles is doing at home. But when Miles finds it, he thinks it must belong to Alf. Both men dance around the subject, talking at cross purposes with each other, until they realise the magazine actually belongs to Jai. Miles has a talk to Jai about sex which leaves Jai embarrassed and mortified. There’s only one saving point for Jai in a forgettable day – Annie has agreed to come around for dinner, and a reconciliation looks on the cards. Jai’s night of romancing Annie starts well, but when Annie inadvertently finds the magazine, there’ll be no reconciliation!
Irene is shocked to discover from Gibbsy that Lou was juggling the books, potentially leaving her with a very tricky situation to sort out with the tax department. Having agreed to start trying for a baby, Kirsty’s enthusiasm is all it should in front of Miles, who is clearly over the moon. Before turning in for the night, Kirsty takes her contraceptive pill, indicating that perhaps she is not as ready as she has led Miles to believe.
Scenes cut from Episode:
But Xavier has trouble harnessing his feelings, and plans, with Jai’s help, to spray paint Angelo’s car. He tells Jai it’ll make a change from slashing his tyres. Jai’s shocked to learn he’s been doing that, but Jai has his own problems and tells Xavier he can’t help him with the spray painting – he wouldn’t want to anyway – he’s been in enough trouble lately. Without help, Xavier shelves the spray painting idea.
Irene’s surprised when Kirsty tells her that she’s had a change of mind and decided she does now want to have a baby with Miles.
