Extended Summary

After being caught by the Bishop making out in the car, Elijah scrambles for an excuse, but doesn’t come up with anything good. The Bishop is not impressed by the example that Elijah is setting and tells him he should exercise much more discretion. Charlie finds the situation amusing, but Leah is stressed – she thinks this might create problems for Elijah in the community. Leah wants to check on him, but Charlie advises her not to.

Elijah tells Leah the Bishop may create some problems, but he’s not too worried. When the Bishop is cold to Leah during lunch, she can’t let it go, so she confronts him later at the caravan park, telling him that their relationship is an amazing thing and Elijah is a good man who would never do anything to harm the church. After consideration, the Bishop accepts their relationship – Leah reminds him of his first girlfriend, now his wife – and Leah and Elijah are relieved. He also explains the reason he had earned the name ‘Pitbull’ – one of his ministers was once caught having a relationship with an underage girl. This is the first time that he has had to deal with a relationship situation since, which is why he overreacted.

The night before the police are due to search the area again, Aden and Justin go out to the site where Larry’s body is. However, in the dark they find themselves unable to find the grave – they are forced to sleep in the car and try again at first light, the cops not being due until the afternoon. The eventually dig up the body and just as they’re about to leave, Charlie and the cops arrive earlier than planned. The boys quietly carry their dad’s body to the car but give themselves away when the car door slams. The cops hear it and decide to try ringing Justin’s phone again, which they hear nearby. They give chase and get to the road just in time to see Aden’s car driving off into the distance.

Nicole is conflicted over what Justin told her, she isn’t sure what to do. She turns to Marilyn for advice, but Marilyn figures Aden is the one who knows best for Aden. Wanting to talk to Aden about what’s going on, Nicole tries to track him down, but there’s no answer at the townhouse or on the phone. She hopes he’s alright. The next morning she picks the boys up, after they’ve said the car was stolen, and notices they’re acting strange, but never gets a chance to follow up before she has to leave. They then get a phone call from Charlie – she’s on her way around to speak to them both.
