Extended Summary
Charlie seeks out Ruby’s advice about spending the night with Angelo, who thinks the coupling is fantastic, whilst Angelo gets a pep talk from Marilyn who suggests that, if he’s not sure where he stands with Charlie now, he should simply follow her lead. Unfortunately, when Angelo and Charlie do come together, the atmosphere is tense and awkward between them and Angelo fears the worst. After a talk with her new counsellor, however, Charlie realises that the only thing that matters is that she and Angelo make each other happy and she announces this to him
Ruby is certain that she’s hiding her growing adoration for Liam from everyone, including Xavier. She has no idea that Xavier’s suspicions are mounting and he seeks out Liam’s take on the issue. Liam assures Xavier there is nothing going on between him and Ruby, making it clear he wouldn’t get involved with someone so young and, as Ruby’s teacher, it would be illegal for him to do so. Ruby also assures Xavier her interest in Liam is purely professional and Xavier seems to be won around. However, when he sees Ruby and Liam together, and Ruby certainly seems to be flirting, Xavier’s imagination runs wild and he angrily warns Liam to keep away from Ruby. He’s unaware that Ruby has heard every word and she’s completely horrified.
Still under the impression Marilyn and Alf are engaged, Colleen decides that she has no choice but to accept the pairing and try to be sociable towards Marilyn. However she makes it very clear to them that she will never acknowledge Marilyn as her sister. Alf is keen to put a stop to the silly game, but Marilyn wants to continue, just until Colleen learns her lesson about gossiping.
