Extended Summary
Angelo reveals to Charlie that he is in fact going to help Paulie out with his money problems by getting an increase in his loan. But Charlie thinks Paulie’s mistakes are his own and he himself should be dealing with them, not Angelo. But Angelo knows that his brother has no one else to turn to. Charlie thinks Paulie will never learn if Angelo keeps bailing him out. He knows Charlie’s right and Angelo soon decides against helping Paulie out. Paulie tries guilt tripping Angelo, reminding them of what the loan sharks might do to their parents, but Angelo is determined that Paulie must learn to sort out his own problems. Paulie goes to see Charlie, to beg her to reconsider her stance – Angelo arrives and manhandles him out of the door. Rather than putting Angelo in more debt, Charlie thinks there might be another way to help Paulie out. She soon approaches Xavier and asks if he still has Hugo’s money – if he has, she has a favour to ask.
Liam and Bianca skip library duty to hang out together at Bianca’s house. Liam soon realises that tonight is a test to see if Bianca thinks he is worthy of more kisses – Bianca wants to talk before things go any further. They finally agree that they can ask each other three questions each, and they have to be completely honest with each other. But Liam’s last question is a big one as he wonders if Bianca is still in love with Vittorio – Bianca answers uneasily, yes she is.
Marilyn has offered both Dex and Sid dinner, Dex has sneakily moved Sid out of the way so he can spend the evening alone with Marilyn. When Dex arrives at Marilyn’s house telling her Sid had to go to work, Marilyn invites Dex in for a meal anyway – after he manipulates her with compliments over her cookery. Over the washing up, Sid calls Dex, telling him he’s realised he wasn’t needed at the hospital and when Sid realises he’s with Marilyn, he tells him he’s in a lot of trouble. Dex admits to Marilyn that he made the whole thing up – he wanted to be alone with Marilyn because he’s fallen in love with her. Despite her suspicions, Marilyn is still very shocked.
