Charlie and Robertson interrogate Daria over her knowledge of Penn’s murder. Xavier tries to mend his relationship with April. April has a secret she is keeping from Xavier.

Extended Summary
Charlie and Robertson question Daria for her knowledge of the murder of Penn Graham but she denies she had anything to do with it. Desperate to buy time to get more information out of her, Charlie goes to John Palmer to see if he can provide them with anything they can charge her with to keep her there. However he doesn’t have any record of giving Daria the cash. Things look up when a little digging reveals that an ex-boyfriend of Daria’s reported his combi van missing – the same van that Daria was driving when she first came to the bay. Knowing that they have a charge against her, Robertson is able to keep Daria in custody to interrogate her further about Penn’s murder.
After searching Daria’s caravan they finally find some evidence to use against her – a skirt with sequins, which matches with the sequin found in Penn’s hotel room. Daria then changes her story to say that she did indeed visit Penn in his hotel room after meeting him on the beach, but a few days before his murder. She can provide no proof of this however, and is then caught out when she asks whether they could really believe a girl like her could stick a fishing knife into Penn Graham. When Robertson asks how she knows what Penn was killed with, especially given that the information hasn’t been released, Daria refuses to cooperate further without a lawyer present.
Xavier is concerned that he has grown apart from April, given that he had to find out from Romeo that she has moved back to Irene’s. Sensing April’s distance, Xavier tries to bridge the gap and get some idea of what is going on, afraid she may have hooked up with someone while she was away. Xavier looks through April’s phone and finds out April has been chatting to someone in France called Rene and is relieved – until Romeo points out that in France, Rene is also a guy’s name.
April is spending a lot of time online chatting to Rene. Xavier suspects something is going on but April is being very evasive about the situation. April reveals that Rene is just her father’s assistant, a friend and old man that she only talks to for school stuff. Xavier believes her story, however when April talks to Rene online later in the night, we can see he is not an old man and she makes references to some plan they’ve hatched together. What secret is April hiding?
