Phoebe’s grief pushes her to tell Kyle a harsh home truth. Has Roo made a big mistake by moving in with James?
Extended Summary
Kyle, Phoebe and Ash all return home, broken after the news that Phoebe has lost the baby. Ash offers Phoebe his unconditional support, but she shuts him out, telling him there’s nothing he can do.
Kyle, meanwhile, is extremely worried, and Ricky suggests he goes to visit her, telling him it’s a bad idea for him to hande it alone. However, when he visits, Phoebe pushes him away too. When Ricky pays him another visit later, he admits that he’s upset as he thought he was going to be a dad and finally get the family he’s always wanted.
Hannah suggests Ash tries not to take things to heart with Phoebe, and he needs to be patient with her as she recovers.
Ricky pays Phoebe a visit, offering her flowers. But when she tries to relate her own experience to Phoebe’s, she’s shut down – with Phoebe telling Ricky that her body didn’t reject her baby like Phoebe’s did. Ricky decides not to push, and leaves Phoebe alone, annoyed at herself for interfering.
Ash checks on Kyle, but Kyle’s livid and criticises him for taking Phoebe out on a beach picnic when she should have been resting, implying it was the reason she lost the baby. Ash is adamant that it wouldn’t have made a difference, but the two end up arguing, with Kyle accusing Ash of wanting Phoebe to terminate the pregnancy all along, and now with the baby gone, has Phoebe all to himself. Ash warns Kyle to stop, causing him to snap and swing at him. As the fight escalates, Nate breaks it up, sending Ash away, but Kyle continues to try to bait him, and get him to admit this is what he wanted all along.
When Ash arrives home, Phoebe pushes him for sex, but he can tell she’s just trying to avoid dealing with the pain, and stops her. Phoebe cracks, and breaks down in his arms, letting it all out.
Nate tells Ricky about the fight, and suggests that she check up on Kyle. When she finds him he’s smashing up the baby’s cot with a cricket bat, and breaks down when she eventually gets him to stop. Shortly after, Phoebe heads out alone and runs into Kyle. He apologises, and wants them to help each other get through the loss together. But Phoebe tells him he’s been the problem the whole time, and that she can’t be around him. She didn’t want to be a mother and didn’t want to keep it, but he bullied her into it, and now, here they are. Phoebe storms off, leaving Kyle in shock and gutted.

Maddy and Roo are exbited as they move out of Alf’s house and in with James. However, Maddy quickly becomes suspicious when she finds that James has a second phone hidden in a kitchen drawer. James tells her that it’s just a work phone, but this does little to convince Maddy that he isn’t up to something.
Her suspicion is raised further when James hestitates before agreeing to invite his parents to the housewarming. She runs her concerns past Oscar, but he thinks that the story checks out. Back home, Maddy goes to tell Roo about James’s second phone, but he gets home before her and she misses her chance, as James gets in first and reveals his parents are visiting next week! Roo is delighted, but Maddy still can’t help harbouring lingering doubts.
