Charlotte’s self-destruction continues – but who is watching her every move? Will Alf accept Roo and James lightning fast engagement? Can a date with John bring Marilyn’s memory back?

Extended Summary

A repeat of the previous day, Matt goes to leave Charlotte’s and she tries to seduce him to make him stay. He refuses, not wanting them to get caught together again. He escapes, but is watched by an unknown person from a nearby car.

He visits Josh, and confides in him about his night with Charlotte, and how he plans to keep seeing her. Josh warns him that he will be expelled if Principal Snelgrove finds out, but Matt isn’t worried, telling Josh he only has to hide it until the HSC is over. Josh tells him to do himself a favour and end it now, but Matt thinks it’s all under control.

Josh pays Charlotte a visit, as the unknown person continuing to watch her apartment. As he arrives, she’s continuing to cover up Denny’s murder by responding to her Facecloud messages. Josh tells Charlotte he’s concerned that Matt is going to stuff up his HSC again, but Charlotte attacks him – if Josh ruins this for her, she’ll ruin him.

Josh tells Matt what happened, but Matt refuses to take him seriously. Josh gives up, telling him that it’s not going to end well. That night, Charlotte hears banging on her front door. She’s scared, and when she answers, finds nobody standing there. Instead, she finds a note, which reads, “I’m watching you”. But who is it?

Alf visits Irene’s to check on Marilyn, and reveals he still doesn’t trust James, and thinks they’re taking things too quick.

Meanwhile, newly engaged Roo and James decide they need to tell Alf their good news. But when they tell him, he tells them he thinks they’re out of their minds, and won’t give them his blessing! Roo says she knows in her heart that she wants to spend the rest of her life with him, but Alf retorts that, in that case, he doesn’t see the harm in them waiting! He reminds her how she’s always jumped into things too fast, and look where it’s landed her! Roo storms out, upset.

James tries to talk Alf round, but Alf is firm that a couple of months is far too early to get married, and that he doesn’t want the girls to have yet another guy walking out on them. James gives Alf a thinly veiled threat – they’ll miss having him in their lives if he doesn’t give them his blessing. James thinks Alf understood his point, but the conversation causes Alf to make a discreet call to Morag for a favour, asking her to run a background check on James.

Marilyn is feeling relaxed before her date with John, but Irene warns her that he may have some higher expectations. Meanwhile, a nervous John can’t decide where to take Marilyn, so Alf advises him to keep it simple, take it slow and see what happens. John’s surprised when he picks Marilyn up and her hair is the same as on their wedding day, although she’s not aware of what she’s done. Sensing John’s nerves, she tries to calm him by telling him to just try and enjoy the date.

He takes her to the diner, and after some initial nerves, relaxes and starts telling her a personal story. However, it only serves to help her remember another former partner, Sid Walker – but not him. John’s hurt, and thinks they should just quit while they’re ahead. He doesn’t want to spend the rest of his life being reminded of what he’s lost. Marilyn follows him out, and tells him she understands why she fell in love with him in the first place.

Being in the car park together reminds John of how they first got together, and as he recounts the story to Marilyn, she remembers him! She starts to recall their entire wedding, as she looks over the place where it happened. John’s ecstatic, and he pulls her into a hug, finally reunited with his wife.
