Back at the Morgan house, Leah emerges from the bathroom. Justin tells her that Theo is spending the night at Kirby’s. He tells her she can spend the night in their room while he takes the spare room. Leah admits she doesn’t feel comfortable in there since it’s where the nightmares started. Meanwhile, Mackenzie arrives home to find Mali is still up. Mali has realised she changed her mind about Levi and hooked up with him again. Mackenzie confirms it and Mali says he thought she didn’t want to be that person. Mackenzie asks not to do this tonight.
Next morning, Leah meets Valerie at the Diner and apologises for leaving her in the lurch. Valerie says Leah has to do what’s right for her and Marilyn talks enthusiastically about Leah and Justin’s progress.

Mackenzie gets up to find Mali has made breakfast.
She suggests there’s a lecture coming with it and Mali comments on her being angry whether he mentions her affair or not. Mackenzie tells him not to call it that and accuses him of judging her.
Tane comes in with his bag during the argument and wonders what’s going on. Later, Mali teases Tane about disappearing and not calling and claims the argument was just housemate stuff. Mackenzie comes in and, assuming Tane knows, confirms she’s having an affair with a married man. Mali says he didn’t tell him. Mackenzie heads off to work, saying Mali will fill Tane in.
Leah comes home and confirms to Justin that she had no nightmares. She sits him down and puts the idea of Valerie moving in to him. Justin says they’d have to ask Theo. Leah agrees but doesn’t think he’ll mind, asking Justin what he thinks. Justin says he doesn’t know her so Leah suggests they have coffee together to get to know each other.
Later, the three of them are walking on the beach. Valerie talks about wanting to get to Lyrik’s next gig and Justin jokes about hiring her as a roadie. Leah goes to check on the coffee cart and Justin asks Valerie to tell him about herself, wondering what her story is. Valerie asks if he wants to know why she was in the trauma clinic and Justin says only if she wants to tell him. Valerie says Leah’s never wanted to know so he shouldn’t either, storming off.
Justin heads to the coffee cart to tell Leah what happened and admits he wanted to know why Valerie was in the clinic. Leah thinks it’s an invasion of privacy. Justin says he wants to know who he’s inviting into his home. Leah pointedly suggests she might be someone unstable or violent who pulls a knife on people, and says she trusts Valerie. At the farm house, Tane and Mali are comparing notes on Mackenzie. Mali suggests that Levi saving her life might be affecting her judgement. Tane thinks they should talk to her but Mali doesn’t want to get his head bitten off again so Tane decides it’s up to him.
Tane arrives at Salt and reminds Mackenzie that she was in favour of honesty in his marriage. Mackenzie drags him into the store room and tells him that she’s not the one that’s married. Tane is unimpressed with the argument. Mackenzie claims Levi’s wife will never know and Tane asks if she really wants to be involved with someone like that.
Mackenzie snaps that not everyone is perfect like him and says she’s going home. Outside, she runs into Mali, who says he tried to talk Tane into staying out of it. Mackenzie tells him about the text she got from Levi and admit it’s hard having to wait to hear from him and not knowing when she’ll see him again.
Leah welcomes Valerie to the Morgan house, telling her about fresh towels and sheets. Justin also tells her she’s welcome. Leah and Valerie decide to go shopping in Yabbie Creek and then for a walk. Leah asks Justin to put Valerie’s bag in her room. Justin looks a bit left out. Later, Justin goes to see Marilyn at the Diner and expresses suspicion that moving in was Valerie’s idea. They realise neither of them really know anything about her.
Mackenzie is staring at Levi’s last text when Tane comes home. He says he came on strong and was preoccupied with his own life, explaining about sleeping with Felicity. Later, he explains that he regretted it soon after and the temptation was too much. Mackenzie understands that. Tane says he found another way to hurt Felicity. He starts to say he’s decided something but Mackenzie’s phone rings with a call from Levi. She offers to stay and talk but Tane sends her away to answer it, looking deflated.
