Donald Fisher and Marilyn Chambers (1996)

strict headmaster Donald Fisher and ditzy, bubbily Marilyn could not have been more unalike and very few thought their relationship was for real with even less thinking it would last. They defied convention though and got married in 1996/97 despite disapproval from many people including Fisher's daughter Rebecca. The marriage was not always smooth though as Marilyn ran out twice, and after the last one in 2000, she never returned.

Jack Holden and Martha McKenzie (June 2006)

Jack and Martha had been a fans favourite for the past six months and due to the fact that the script writers needed a big event to blow up, they decided to get married. In what was an unusually traditional ceremony for recent Home and Away weddings, Jack and Martha got married and then everyone was blown to pieces. Things their fans love about their wedding was the fact that Jack and Martha couldn't agree on anything. They eventually agreed for Jack to pick the service type and Martha the reception. He chose a traditional church and she chose a barn dance for the reception. The ceremony went smoothly and the reception got off to a great start with Martha lifting her traditional white gown to reveal cowboy boots underneath. One of the main things people have disliked about their wedding was that it seemed merely a plot device for the stalker Zoe McAllister to wreck her revenge and their marriage barely lasted 3 or 4 months after the wedding. Despite a few attempts at divoirce and a few more at getting back together they remain married but are both dating other people.

Leah Patterson and Dan Baker (July 2005)

Dan and Leah met when Dan arrived in the bay after his brother Peter was knocked into a coma. Their first date was a bit of a mix up and their relationship a slow starter but by the end of the year they had become engaged, and just had to wait for Dan's divorce to come through, eventually making it official whilst stuck in the bush. Towards the wedding, Dan and Leah's mothers came together with disastrous consequences, leading Dan and Leah to attempt to elope. They were caught and were married in a ceremony a few weeks later in the run up to episode 4000. The ceremony went without hitch in the end after all their friends pitched in to recuse things after Dan's scheming ex-Amanda tried to tuin things. Their relationship was on rocky ground by the end of the year with Dan's gambling debts causing problems but they pulled through and are still happily married today.
