BTTB is pleased to announce the Frankie Monroe Script Writing Competition 2009. This competition has now become an annual event for BTTB which is eagerly anticipated by our members and by the judges alike. This year the competition has been renamed in honour of the late Frankie Monroe, the person who originally came up with the idea and who organised the first two competitions so brilliantly.
As usual the competition awards prizes in two age categories, the 17 and over, and 16 and under.
This year we are again honoured to have Coral Drouyn, a former script producer for Home and Away as our head judge. Coral has been a great friend to BTTB and is always thoughtful, positive, and constructive in the advice and criticism which she gives to any one who enters the competition. If you are wondering about entering the competition, two of our previous winners, Drew, who has won twice once in the junior section and last year in the over 17's, and Eduardo Bearo, who won the over 17's in 2007 and was a judge last year, have told us a little about their experiences.
As usual we are publishing Coral's very helpful and informative guide to writing a scene which is a must read for all potential entrants. Bevan Lee has also very kindly answered some of the questions posted by our members which we are sure you will find instructive.
We have some great prizes up for grabs this year, each winner will receive the following, as shown in our banner above:
• A 'Home and Away' script of Episode 4609, signed by the cast and kindly donated by Seven Network's Script Executive Bevan Lee
• 'The Screenplay Workbook' kindly signed and donated by author Tom Mungovan
• 'Home and Away: Official Collectors Edition' magazine
• Summer Bay Surf Club cap
• A Summer Bay bumper sticker
• An assortment of 'Home and Away' related pictures (may vary from ones shown)
