16. Charlie McKinnon - 21 votes
What would you call a guy who idolizes you, beats people up
for you, breaks into your business after hours to wear your
clothes, and even wants to smell like you? You’d probably
call him a stalker, but since Zoe McCallister already
claimed that title, we’ll just call him Charlie.
Charlie
McKinnon’s obsession with Kim was never clearly defined.
Whether it was innocent friendship he was seeking or
romantic bliss, he wasn’t about to let anyone get in the way
of it. He murdered his own grandmother and kidnapped Kim's
girlfriend. He even held Rachel hostage at the Gymn (which
could have gone a lot differently if Home and Away had a
higher rating), all in the belief that he and Kim would
somehow be granted the ambiguous title of "mates forever."
Unfortunately, Charlie's feelings were unrequited and he
ended up with a one-way ticket to the Ryfton Lakes psych
ward, which must by now be overflowing with Summer Bay
psycho's, in fact they have probably had to build a new wing
to accommodate them all. Charlie was never seen again.
17. Tracey Thompson - 20 votes
Tracy picked up a fair few votes by virtue of the fact that
she was Zoe/Eve's lover. She did not do much else apart from
make Peter look a complete idiot, which actually is not that
difficult. She helped Zoe/Eve escape from the prison van,
and then got blown to bits with her at Jack and Martha's
wedding reception.
18. Felix Walters - 19 votes
Felix was a professional anarchist at the uni, who loved
trouble and was anti everyone and everything. His brain had
been scrambled by crystal meth and, along with a lot of
viewers, he took a huge dislike to Dani Sutherland who wrote
an article about him. He and his girl friend Sarah targetted
Dani and made her life hell for quite a few months. He died
when Sarah misguidely gave him too much crystal meth
thinking he would get better, as he had been beaten up by
some of Viv Standish's contacts, Viv being Dani's old friend
The Gov. We were quite sad when he died as he was very good
at winding Dani up.
19.Morag Bellingham - 16 votes
Morag has changed over the years. She tried to humiliate
Ailsa and to stop her marryng Alf, she encouraged Roo to be
anti Ailsa, she hated Bobby, who was in fact her daughter,
and she did all sorts of things which made her a pariah. She
tried to get custody of young Sam by devious means after
Bobby's death, and was banished for quite some time. Her
ability to deliver a stinging rebuke or put down has not
diminished, her run ins with Colleen are are delight, and
her bickering with Alf is just pure class. She has mellowed
with age, but you would not want to get on the wrong side of
her. She is not the villain today that she was in the early
years. In fact some of us miss the old Morag.
=20. Kirsty Phillips - 14 votes
Kirsty had a relationship with, married and then absconded
with the guy who raped her sister. It tore her family apart,
but she went ahead and did it anyway. The K/K story divided
viewers, they either loved them or they hated them. She was
not written as nor cast as a villain, but many saw her
actions as those of a selfish self serving villain, and they
hated her for it.
21.Kane Phillips - 11 votes
People either love or hate this character. He was
controversial. Kane raped Dani Sutherland, and then went on
to marry her sister. He worked quite well as a villain as he
had many layers and was not a black and white text book bad
guy. He had his gentler side, he could be kind, and he would
have died for Kirsty. That underlying streak of
villainousness was always there though. Sometimes viewers
did not know whether they were supposed to love him or hate
him or both. That's what made him interesting. |
