Corey was as cute as they come, and twice as evil. He played
the locals like a pro, seducing Martha and driving Irene
crazy – literally. He poisoned the poor old girl with
mercury until all her friends and family were against her,
and even got her dragged kicking and screaming to a mental
institution – again literally. But that’s what she gets for
sending his father to prison and tearing his family apart.
Corey’s storyline was one of the most popular of 2005, with
Adam Saunders (Corey) and Lynne McGranger (Irene) delivering
some of their best scenes to date. Corey even had the cops
believing he was one of their own (not that that’s hard to
do), and some of us wish he was still on the force. Can’t
they overlook the fact that he tried to kill some people?
Two of them were Jack and Martha, after all, and he did look
so good in that uniform.
7. Diana Fraser - 73 votes
Diana is one of those character whom you love to hate. Her
verbal spats with other characters, most notably Irene,
Morag, Chloe and her two sons Lachlan and James are
legendary. Diana was the archetypal driven mother who wanted
the best for her children, the trouble being that what she
thought was best, didn't tarry with what they or anyone else
thought was best. She was obsessed with her sons, and with
their careers, she stuck with her openly gay husband rather
than endure the ignominy of divorce. She manipulated Chloe
and James into marrying so that she could keep some control
over her grand daughter Olivia. She hated Irene, she spiked
her drinks, and once tried to get her arrested on a trumped
up charge of attempted murder. She was distraught when
Lachlan died, and tried to kidnap Olivia. When Chloe died
she fought Irene for custody, and won, but also lost when
Chloe's will stated that under no circumstances was Diana
ever to get custody. Olivia went to live with James. Diana
was not happy. To quote Olivia, about Diana, "....all you
ever do is make people feel bad."
Diana was played by Kerry McGuire, and she managed to inject
all sorts of layers into the character. At times you hated
her, and like Irene, wanted to punch her face. At others you
almost felt sorry for this very lonely and very screwed up
woman.
8. Brian "Dodge" Forbes - 66 votes
Dodge was Pippa's first "failure". He came to live in Summer
Bay House not long after burning down the local store,
killing Steven's Uncle Phillip in the process (at this
point, nobody knew he was behind the fire). Living with the
Fletchers, he played the good guy but little Sally knew he
was up to no good. As time went on, he led astray and caused
no end of trouble for poor little Sally, including standing
by and watching her get washed off the rocks and out to sea,
almost drowning. When the truth came out about Dodge killing
Steven's uncle, Stevo did some karate on him and then got
him sent to prison. Fast forward six years and Dodge is out
of jail, looking for revenge against the guy that put him
away. He fakes his own murder by jumping off a boat, framing
poor Stevo in the process. Eventually Steven tracks him
down, and they fight to the death once and for all. Dodge,
who was completely derranged by this point, threw Steven
over the edge of a cliff, taking himself with him in the
process. Oh, and he murdered Irene's ex husband Mud too. His
body was never actually recovered and some believe he still
roams the bush waiting for the moment when he can reappear
and have his revenge on Summer Bay, as all good Home and
Away villains are want to do.

9. Robert Perez - 53 votes
Robert Perez, or is that David D'Angelo, was a character
from the Nash families past and whom he followed to Summer
Bay. Robert scared the hell out of me! He arrived to get
revenge on Joel, and did so by terrorising his daughter
Gypsy. He kidnapped Gypsy for a couple of weeks causing
Natalie Nash so much stress that her appearance changed
dramatically. He then burnt the Nash House down before being
caught and sent to jail. Then, using that good old Home and
Away plotline of ****e prison security, he escaped and
returned to the bay where he had suddenly turned good by
trying to get rid of Duncan and reuniting everyone's
favourite couple with the same first initial.
10. Momma Rose - 52 votes
Momma Rose seemed to live in one cardigan throughout her
time on the show. She was obsessed with Tasha and with some
prophecy, about which we heard a great deal of waffle, but
no detail. She persuaded her son to drug and impregnate
Tasha resulting in the birth of Tasha's baby Ella. In Momma
Rose's eyes baby Ella was destined to save The Believers and
to lead them to enlightenment. She kidnapped Ella, but Tasha
pushed Momma Rose out of the window in order to rescue her
baby. Sadly she did not let Momma Rose go, though Tasha
conceded that the temptation to do so was great. Momma Rose
is now a resident at the Summer Bay wing of the Ryfton Lakes
Psych Unit.
